Quietly, B'jin listened as Talian spoke, holding the young Healer securely against himself the entire while. He was beginning to particularly enjoy the way their relationship was mellowing into less of he and Talian dancing around each other on tip-toes, always so worried about offending the other or causing trouble, and instead their easy hugs and casual intimacy pleased him. He enjoyed Talian's companionship and was glad the young man was easing off, a little, from his usual timid stance when around him. Of course, B'jin still made him twitch at times, but in so being said, there were times when Talian made B'jin worry he'd gone too far, as well.
"Talian!" B'jin hadn't realised he'd snapped until the words left his mouth, and the man's eyes widened comically for a moment before he quickly hugged Talian tightly, appologising silently for the outburst. Breathing deeply in, B'jin sighed across the top of Talian's head. Hearing someone downgrade themselves was not something B'jin enjoyed, or accepted. Having doubts, or fearing failure, or expecting to always do better was something normal and natural and everyone expereinced it. But the way Talian had said that, had struck a chorde in B'jin and caused him to snap before he could stop himself. He wasn't angry, so much as shocked. Talian was a very intelligent and resorceful young man. He was most certainly not a loser of any style.
"Please don't say that." B'jin murmured, holding Talian tightly for a moment before he gently released him and took a step back, head tilting as his mind was infiltrated by Larrikith; He needs a dragon. Her own voice was almsot soft, carrying an implied frown upon it. B'jin frowned slightly, his expression asking the question that didn't form, in his mind or on his lips. Larrikith didn't bother to answer it, however, as she gently withdrew. Shrugging it off, B'jin's brown eyes focused on Talian, eyes soft. "You do not give yourself enough credit, Talian." He didn't mean academically, either, but in general. The healer was too hard on himself, and his expectations appeared to be skewed.
