One thing in particular stuck out to Talian. "Numbweed allergy?" he asked, eyes flashing with curiosity. His voice hit a high, passionate note that B'jin had likely never heard before, something resembling what Tal might have sounded like during one of his rare but cherished happy moments back home. "You're allergic to numbweed?" Well, screw hand deformities, this was the most interesting anomaly Talian had ever heard of before! He stood up and followed B'jin like a canine following a wounded crawler, right into the kitchen where he found himself confronted with a glass of redfruit juice.
Even though he'd declined a drink, he accepted it anyhow. While klah was his favorite, Talian did have a bit of a sweet tooth. He drank it with the same indiscriminate speed as usual and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. "I've never heard of that before. Does it cause swelling, or only irritation? Does your skin break out into full hives, or only a rash?" Another gulp. "Itchy? Or painful?"
How... inconvenient that allergy must be. Talian didn't envy him.
The healer was a bit taken aback by B'jin's sudden change in mood, though he didn't pay it much thought until his academic curiosity died down a bit. His brows furrowed in concern, but he picked up on enough of B'jin's subtle notes to realize he wasn't going to get much out of the man. Choosing to be quiet and let B'jin change the subject if he pleased, Talian flashed the man a concerned look and then smiled. "I'm glad you're feeling better," he said, tone sinking back to it's usual mellow, half-sad state.
He paused to consider the offer of food. He was hungry, but after that whole thing, he didn't have much will to feed himself. He'd lost weight since his arrival, though he hadn't seemed to notice it himself. "And it's nothing..." he said, faint apprehension tingling in his voice. "I mostly just wanted to explain the...indiscretion...from the other day..."
Eeep.
Wait, did he make that sound out loud?
