If I'shan sensed his friend's momentary reservations, he didn't show it. His playful smile spread as he finally relaxed, waiting impatiently for the redness to fizzle from his cheeks. He was somewhat embarrassed at his little fit of excitement. "He's very handsome," he said. "And on the quiet side. And verryyyyy..." He drug the word out obnoxiously long as he thought of the correct terminology. "Blunt. Let's put it that way."
I'shan himself frequently wondered why he'd taken such a shine to N'gelt. He tried his best to ignore the obvious reason - his weakness for extreme masculinity. N'gelt was such a bold arrangement of hyper-masculine traits that he was almost a caricature, and I'shan drank in it. He shuddered subtly as he thought about it, eyes briefly closing and hands resting neatly on either side of his plate.
"I'm not sure what it is, R'nd. I just...people like him fascinate me," he said. He opened his eyes once more and tactically narrowed them at R'nd. He was used to such playful comments, but sometimes...sometimes he felt they were serious.
Not that he had any problem with the notion of being tangled in R'nd's sheets, at least not usually. I'shan was smitten, however, his mind aligned firmly with his handsome, elusive brownrider.
He smiled knowingly, and perhaps half-sincerely. "Lets not linger on what might have been," he said lightly, his tone dismissive but not unfriendly. He leaned forward again. "So...how was B'jin?"
