I don’t think the little gold cares, Aradissicath supplied to Aveleth as she watched the firelizards with amusement swirling brightly in her eyes. Whisper held her ground despite Plague’s death glare and patiently waited for the petting she knew she would receive. When it finally came in a small stroke, she radiated snugness and pushed the amusing little green’s buttons all the more by curling up in Z’ia’s lap. She was quite content where she was, thank you! Rhaedalyn just stared at her firelizard and decided that at least all three of hers hadn’t thought Z’ia looked like the perfect perching post. He didn’t seem to mind too much either now that Plague hadn’t eaten anyone so she left the gold where she was for a moment longer.
“I do! Who doesn’t like berries?” Rhaedalyn easily switched subjects, not finding the question strange after the antics of the flitters. It was an easy transition and it was about something that she liked and knew a bit about – like how sweet and delicious they were and how they made wonderful pies. Well, wonderful pies that others made. Her attempts at pies were still a bit lacking but she felt there had been some improvement and her friends didn’t seem to cringe now when she made them try.
Rhaedalyn cocked her head to the side, “why do you ask?” Did Z’ia have some with him that he was offering to share with her? Her heart fluttered at such a thought. That would be truly wonderful! It would almost be counted as a date if he did such a thing or even as a gift. Maybe he didn’t have the berries yet and wanted to take her out to pick some. That would certainly count as a date then! Thankfully, too much time around R’nya had taught her to school some of her expressions and her excitement wasn’t etched into her features and only her curiosity continued to show. For the moment, anyway. Any longer and she’d likely burst.
