The pup relaxed under the weyrbrat's touch, soothing Terken's worries about this. He knew he had to settle the puppies soon, with eggs on the sands. He kept getting assured that he would probably not impress his first time out, few people did but he still worried.
He spoke softly. "Either would do very well. She'll let you know when she likes the sound of her name. Kela did with me." He gently petted her, fingers working throught he dog's thick double coat to scratch an itchy spot she couldn't reach. "Are they going to let you keep her in the creche with you?"
Terken eyed her and added, "Food is the easiest part. You'll want to give her meat every day. I generally feed the dogs the same diet the dragonets and firelizards get, with a bit of people food for Kela and the occasional bone. The kitchens will help with that."
