Zellera walked to the dining hall. There was no new clutch on the sands yet, so she was trying to keep herself busy. But she got an idea, she had heard that the gold candidates were going to be able to start healing lessons now, and she really wanted to become a dragonhealer. Even if she never impressed, she would still be able to help in some way, right? She heard a small chirp in her right ear and she looked at Pheonix. "Yes, I will bring food along with for you." This got a happy response from the firelizard and she smiled softly. Pheonix seemed to be the only real thing she would talk to, unless she was being forced to talk, that was when she would talk. She would just be nervous while talking though. But she went to the kitchens and asked for a bowl of meat chunks for Pheonix before she left with a polite thank you.
Her next stop, was to talk to the Weyrleader. She knew that she needed his permission to be able to even try and do what she wanted to do. So she headed to his office and she asked for his permission. The conversation lasted for about ten minutes. He asked her questions on if she was sure that this was something that she wanted, and her answer was a determined and firm, "Yes". That was when he called the very searchrider that had brought her here, V'rin. She looked at the greenrider and she gave a soft smile. He walked her over to Solneth and she gently pet the green's head before she was helped onto the dragon's back. She made sure that Phoenix gave back the empty bowl before they left, just to be sure that the kitchens had that still.
The trip between lasted a few seconds, but it was still strange to her. She took a moment after V'rin helped her down and she gave him a small nod when he said that he would still be here to take her back. "Thank you V'rin, and you Solneth." She head the small coon from the green before she looked toward the Healer's Hall then. She took a deep breath and walked toward the doors. She didn't know if the Masterhealer had gotten the missive from the Weyrleader yet stating that Zellera would be here, but here she was, hoping. She wanted nothing more to be able to help, whether as a candidate, a dragonrider, or even just a crafter after she aged out. She walked into the Hall, and with her soft voice called out. "Hello, I am here to talk to Masterhealer Verec."
Her voice was soft, but thankfully, not shaky this time talking. It had been shaking when she spoke to the Weyrleader not mere minutes before, and she was scared that her shyness was going to get her denied. She knew one thing though, that she was determined to do this, and that she was going to prove herself.
