General Description:

K’tir’s eyes are a bright but clear brown. They’re not exactly expressive but certain emotions are easy enough to read with a glare or flutter of dark lashes for sultry look.

Chestnut brown in colour and fabulous in style, K’tir has a mane women have lusted over in the past. Lustrous with a natural shine, his hair falls just to his shoulders in soft waves that will curl up when wet or when the humidity attacks. While K’tir has been known to wear his hair down though often with it brushed back from his face, it’s usually tied back at the nape of his neck and even higher upon his head in a makeshift bun style. He doesn’t see either style as girly but as something that is easy to maintain and even practical despite shorter pieces falling free.

K’tir sports a light goatee most of the time but just as soon as everyone is used to it, he’s likely to show up the following day with a clean-shaved face and keep it that way for a while. It all depends on his mood and has nothing to do with a shock factor. His face is long with a defined jaw line that is accentuated both with and without the goatee and he has a strong narrow nose that suits his face perfectly and doesn’t seem to overpower his thin upper lip that sometimes looks like it will be lost in his goatee. Yet even that fits well with his plump lower lip to lend him the ability to look angry or seductive with a quirk of his mouth. Perhaps his oddest facial feature is the right eyebrow has a slightly higher arch to it, giving it more definition and leaving K’tir with a quizzical expression as he silently observes what’s happening around him.

K’tir is skinny, likely too skinny given his height but he hasn’t had any luck in changing that no matter how much he eats. Not even increasing his exercise regime assisted in his size, leaving him with a more toned yet still slim body. He’s fine with his size, it’s the kitchen women constantly trying to fatten him up that starts to get annoying.

General Dressing Style:

K’tir is usually seen in a comfortable pair of slacks that are perfectly hemmed for his height but otherwise well-loved. He has a few pairs that have a hole in the knee or even just below his bum from how often he wears them for chores of lounging in. His preferred top to match with such pants is something that can be quickly tossed on, such as a button up, that sometimes even manages to have all of the buttons meeting at the right hole or a hole in general.

His riding leathers are kept in immaculate condition however and he looks every bit the part of a proud brownrider when he sports his jacket and has his hair tied back.

Personality

Likes:

Quietness: While it’s hard to achieve in a Weyr, especially with greens and golds flying constantly shrieking in the sky, K’tir enjoys any peaceful moment he can steal. He’s usually found on his hut’s roof lying in the sun or even under the stars or under a droopy tree at the mouth of the river where it empties into the lake. He’s not thinking about anything in particular; he’s simply existing. Nothing needs rushing through and nowhere calls to him so he rests and enjoys the silence and possibly idle chatter with Ghaeth in that time.

Honesty: K’tir doesn’t see the point in lying since lying only leads to pain in some form or another. For him, it came in a broken heart that has taken a long time to heal. He finds it a kindness to speak his mind and not sugar-coat words even if that means he comes off as a bit rude, crude, or mean in his own way.

His Children: As odd as it may be, K’tir doesn’t mind being a father. He’s not the best dad ever and he doesn’t have them around as much as others might but he enjoys their company and their youthful innocence and enthusiasm.

Strengths:

Takes Responsibility for his Actions: K’tir may not be the most noble of men but he will take responsibility for what he’s done and own up to his actions and choices.

Genuine: He believes he’s a genuine sort and doesn’t try to be someone he’s not.

Regulation: Since the break up with Z’rak, K’tir has become rather good at regulating himself, controlling his emotions and even desires – though alcohol consumption isn’t always as properly controlled.

Dislikes:

Blueriders: His father was an irresponsible bluerider that didn’t want him so expectations are low to begin with but the man he loved and was in a relationship for nearly nine turns was also a bluerider that ended up using him as a bed warmer while mingling with others. K’tir doesn’t think they’re good for much more than screwing people over.

Sleeping In: Even though he will sometimes stay out late on special occasions that result in not wanting to rise with the sun, K’tir prefers to go to bed at a reasonable hour and wake early morning. This gives him more time to get things done before the heat of the day is too much and demands everyone take it easy and find shade. It’s far quieter at that early hour.

Red Meat: Since the day he Impressed, K’tir hasn’t been able to eat meat. The buckets of raw meat he had to feed to Ghaeth started the turning of his stomach and watching his dragon hunt finished it off. He still loves fish but most other types of meat have lost the appeal.

Flaws:

Emotionally Closed Off: K’tir isn’t willing to open up to anyone right away, finding emotions a bit too much to deal with again.

Judgemental: He is also rather judgemental, especially of blueriders and it’s hard to get him to change his mind once it’s been set against someone.

Habits & Mannerisms:

K’tir often stands with his arms crossed over his chest. Sometimes it’s done as the usual defensive stance meaning to keep people at a distance while other times it’s simply he doesn’t know what else to do with his hands and crosses his arms. He also has a habit of running a hand through his hair to keep it brushed off his face in the times when he doesn’t already have it tied back. To some, it looks like it’s an act of frustration and if there is such an emotion, it’s typically due only to hair in his eyes.

General Personality:

K’tir is slightly hard to figure out. He’s not exactly cold and unapproachable but he doesn’t flaunt his interests or for the most part even his status as a brownrider. He more or less simply exists and goes about life in a way that suits him. He’s on the quiet side but he still has friends that he can laugh with and play games with and he still attends gatherings, mingles, and has even been known to dance to a favourite song. Most of the time, however, he comes across as rather serious and even boring in the eyes of the more outgoing.

Thanks to his quiet nature, K’tir can spend time in a public location and be forgotten if he desires it by not interacting with anyone and simply reading a book. He’s not the most learned of men but he does enjoy reading to pass the time, especially since his daughter still loves hearing stories and he needs something to feed his rather lacking imagination.

His personality only really changes when he’s had too much to drink. He’s a bit louder and wilder with some thinking he’s far more interesting to be around in that state. His morals also loosen and even his sexual desires shift enough that he finds an interest in women and typically ends up in bed with them. Sober, he generally prefers the company of men though that too almost changed after a devastating break up with a long time male lover but K’tir finds men far more comforting in that they are what he’s used to though he does still crave the touch of a woman at times.

He’s also one of the rare riders that doesn’t mind trying to be a father. He’s not the best at it and he’s not a constant presence in the lives of his children but he’s extremely caring and loves his brats all the same. He spoils them where he can with sneaking in snacks or taking them riding to the lake and in truth K’tir is wrapped tightly around his daughter’s finger. He once thought he knew what love was with Z’rak but grew cold and a bit distant after that break up but getting to know his children has warmed him up once more and taught him a new type of love. It’s hard to say if it will allow him to open up with a lover ever again and find that special bond but he’s opened up to at least having a few casual and somewhat steady relationships in the recent turns.

His innocence and willingness to please has been shattered by misuse over the turns and K’tir finds being blindingly loyal to someone for whatever reason hard to do now. He can trust only so far and it has to be earned by him over time but he’s still willing to try. The benefit of the doubt can still be obtained but it’s all circumstantial, not a guarantee it will be received. Treat him right and be honest with him and K’tir will do the same and slowly open up.

701 & Born: Kajitiris is born.

702-709 & 1-8: Kajitiris is raised in the crèche by a variety of women as his own mother didn’t want to take care of him.

711 & 10: On his tenth birthday, he is told who his father is by an unsigned letter presumably from his mother. D’nan is less than thrilled to know about the boy and is rather cool towards Kajitiris.

712-714 & 11-13: Kajitiris continues attending classes to learn basic reading and writing as well as preparing for Candidacy while helping around the Weyr where he can.

715 & 14: Near the end of the turn Kajitiris is in the wrong place at the wrong time and is grabbed by bluerider Z’rak caught up in flightlust. This is his introduction to sex in general and of course with another man.

716 & 15: Several months after his first encounter with Z’rak, the bluerider grabs him again and a sexual relationship outside of flights starts. When the Plague hits, everyone is panicked, especially Kajitiris who is worried for his lover and dragon.

717-719 & 16-18: A sixteen year old Kajitiris and Z’rak survive the best they can in the wilderness and take physical comfort in each other regularly. Kajitiris starts to believe it’s something that will last through anything.

720 & 19: All survivors are reunited and Katila is formed. Kajitiris is pleased to see other people again but even happier that Z’rak suggests they continue living together.

721 & 21: At the end of the turn, the worst thing ever happens; they break up. Kajitiris is heartbroken, having believed it was something real but Z’rak was only using him as a bed warmer. A dislike of blueriders forms and with nowhere else to go, Kajitiris moves into the Candidate Barracks to live with men around his age.

722 & 22: During the 721 end of turn celebrations, Kajitiris gets drunk and spends the night with a woman, rebounding from his break up. It results in a baby girl named Katiryn being born nine months later and Kajitiris decides to be a better man than Z’rak and claims her. His parenting skills are lacking but he tries.

727 & 26: The miracle clutch of Renewed Hope hatches and Kajitiris Impresses to brown Ghaeth. A new sense of reason for being in the South is given to him and the weyrling takes well to his dragon and new role, especially since he’s younger in age and experience but Z’rak can no longer look down on him.

729 & 28: Kajitiris graduates from weyrlinghood and becomes K’tir. Once again he gets drunk and spends the night with another woman that ends up pregnant. He now has a second a child, a boy named Kajiran. Neither live full time with him but he continues to try his hand at parenting and takes them in at times.

730-732 & 29-31: K’tir for the most part stays out of trouble and keeps to himself. He’s not entirely anti-social but he’s not the life of the party either. He keeps most of his opinions to himself as well, not sharing what he thinks about B’jin’s lashing, D’ren’s proclamations, or even the attack on D’ren.

733 & 32: Currently enjoying a couple casual relationships but still quietly existing.

734 & 33: The landslide terrifies K’tir as he thinks his children and their mothers were injured or worse. Luckily, all four are fine and he helps them through that time. With the move North, K’tir struggles a bit with the decision but goes with duty, going North with his wing.

736 & 35: K'tir follows his secret lover M'ris to Ista when it opens. He really didn't care where he went, but figured his children would like that warmer location best. He still makes random stops up to Telgar Hold to visit Gabrin when the mood strikes and he wants news of what the Lords in that region are up to.

739 & 38: After some perfect timing, K'tir finds himself dragged into some kinky game Casa plays with a Lord in a shop's storage room. That leads to him becoming a regular partner with Casa and finding out exactly how freaky she can be thanks to chaperoning her 'kinky camping' trip.

740 & 39: K'tir mostly continues to just have fun and stay out of the spotlight this year as well. He doesn't really have an opinion on Faxxonth winning Thallyath's Flight and tells Casa that point blank. Flights, like shit, happen. Sucks about half of the clutch not surviving but he's glad the ones that did are starting to thrive. That said, he still doesn't trust blueriders and inwardly hates that it happened and thinks some sort of punishment should have happened to help keep other blues in line.

742 & 41: Tragedy. K'tir is a victim of the attacks happening around the Weyrs. On a morning he was going to visit Casa, he collided with the attacker and earned a face full of poison which caused him to go blind. Early into his recovery, his daughter is a part of the gold Candidates in Benden that were targeted with poisoned wine and food, causing her death. The rest of the year is spent in mourning and a deep depression.

743 & 42: A slightly better year. He has some lovers that read to him and they act out the sexy scenes. He's grown quite fond of his book club. Ghaeth also claims his first gold Flight win!

His hide is a rich milk chocolate hue that unfortunately doesn’t run uninterrupted. While it’s not an actual pattern, K’tir is hard pressed to describe the way the pale rose-brown travels throughout Ghaeth’s body and down his wings. It’s almost like a timed bomb went off and released the pinkish tone from the base of his wings to burst down through the thin membrane of the wings to the tips. The design spreads out in the opposite direction as well to twist and blend into the dragon’s soft hide. Perhaps the oddest marking of his pattern is his front left paw is grey so it looks like he’s wearing a sock or stepped in the weyrbrats’ paint. Early on this led many to believe another dragon in the clutch was malformed and the pair were watched closely until it proved to be nothing more than a quirky mark.

Ghaeth’s body structure is for the most part on par to his size though his wingspan is roughly a foot longer than what is deemed the average. He doesn’t find that a hindrance and in fact likes to believe it gives him an edge in the sky as he can take a more powerful wing beat. Whether it’s true or not isn’t for K’tir to judge. His actual size is fairly mediocre in range for browns, sitting somewhere between the oddly small and the freakishly large and Ghaeth is fine with that. He doesn’t have anything to prove like his brethren on both ends of the spectrum seem to think they do due to their size. He’s perfectly happy with his appearance and that’s all there is to it.

Personality

Ghaeth doesn’t always seem like he’s aware of his hide’s colour with how bubbly and outgoing he can be. He will chat up any dragon and most humans that linger near him long enough to be greeted. He’s often confused when someone isn’t friendly in return but he doesn’t take it personally as K’tir is always there to insist some people simply lack in manners and the gene that makes them smile. Even without those reassurances, Ghaeth is brimming with confidence – simply from the belief that even those stubborn fools will come around and want to be friends with him eventually to the more outwardly appearing version in the way he chases and carries himself.

K’tir might not be overly interested in flights but sometimes Ghaeth’s will is stronger and they join in with the brown steadily advancing through the pack to overtake the green. Ghaeth’s true goal is a gold, inspired by Tyrrisath’s victories though he has yet to prove he’s up to the challenge by winning just yet.

With all of his own whimsy and confidence, it’s a surprise Ghaeth went straight for K’tir. The young man had once been far more open and laughed regularly but had started to shut down and hide within himself. Ghaeth liked those memories he saw and decided they would do well together. One would help the other love and be friendly again while the other played a strong grounding presence when the fun got a bit out of hand. Ghaeth knew K’tir needed a little encouragement and a shot of self-worth after the break-up and he was willing to supply it.

Quirks

Habits/Mannerisms: Ghaeth has a particular feline quality to him in the way he stretches out after a nap and even in the way he will cleanse himself while lazing by the hut. He will lick a forepaw and rub it over his head knobs in an effort to stay clean but also out of a habit that started in weyrling days. K’tir was wonderful with bathing and oiling but Ghaeth always felt itchy around the knobs and took to moistening them the best he could on his own.

Likes:
Chatting: Ghaeth enjoys chatting with other dragons about anything that is fit for conversation that day which means he also likes other dragons in general. He understands K’tir’s hatred of blueriders but Ghaeth still finds their dragons rather enjoyable to be around since they usually like to have fun as well.
Flying: Leisurely flights are a favourite way to pass time whether he has K’tir with him or not and now that the children are getting older, Ghaeth thrills in giving them a ride as well.

Dislikes:
Lack of Confidence: Ghaeth hates when people don’t believe in themselves. He’s tinted pink and he still has confidence, so why do others have issues with their appearance or ability to do something? He chases golds despite having yet to win one but that doesn’t mean he should stop.
Storms: He also has a fear of thunderstorms, the crash of thunder making him shiver and the lightning causing him to curl up to hide his eyes.

Strengths:
Optimistic: Ghaeth is consistently bubbly and in good spirits. He’s optimistic and likes to see the good in everyone, including those that K’tir can’t. If for any reason he is given a blow and becomes upset in any form, it’s quick to pass and the brown is his usual self once more.

Flaws:
Laziness: Despite all of his seemingly endless supply of energy that is on display as he interacts with others, Ghaeth can be rather lazy. He likes passing the day napping or flying and doesn’t see the need to rush everywhere if it’s not dire. Everything will still be there when they arrive whenever that may be.

Pet Details

Impressed two firelizards soon after they were rediscovered--one for each of his kids as they were too young to have their own in his opinion.

Brown Cocoa Bean named by Kajiran is rather chill. He's happy to just hang out on someone's shoulder or nap where it's quiet. He's most often seen with Kajiran though he still spends time with his true bonded, K'tir. Darker in shade, slightly plump from his laziness.

Green Dewdrop, named by Katiryn, is full of energy. She's a spry thing that likes to flit here, there, and everywhere most of the time but will settle down in Katiryn or K'tir's lap, usually in the evening when everyone is winding down. She's a brighter green with some darker patches. Upon Katiryn's death, Dewdrop reacted as if her own mate had passed and went feral, leaving K'tir and the Weyr behind.
