Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! General Description:
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but any and every person whom beholds Valtala would easily call the seacrafter 'beautiful'. Not only is the boy VERY androgynous, but he looks so much like a woman that he is often mistaken for one by strangers. Not that he minds! He loves the attention his looks garnish him -- wether the attention be good or bad.Valtala has a feminine face, with high cheekbones, and a full lower lip. His eyebrows are high and arched, and he has two moles above the left side of his mouth. He keeps his hair long (but braids it into a tail when he is working), with a slender and graceful body, and very expressive (and well maintained) hands.
He remains androgynous on purpose, despite the bullying he received as a youth for it. His bullies used to jokingly call him, 'The Mermaid', (mostly because he was as pretty and as vain as one!) but unfortunately for them, Valtala grew into the name and came to adore it. Which is good, because everyone at Seacraft Hall knows him by it.
General Dressing Style:
Though he tends to dress more masculinely while he is on ship and at work, Valtala dreams of a personal wardrobe that is much more feminine in his on shore life. He never passes up on the opportunity to dress up for something, and his closet is chalked full of clothing; blouses and romantic looking shirts, jewellery (especially pearls and silver!), soft colours. Valtala spends every last mark he earns on his personal appearance, so much so that people who care about him can tell when something is wrong with him -- that is, when he is not spending his time maintaining his looks.

Water - Not only is Valtala extremely at peace when in the water (especially seawater), but he simply cannot get enough of it! Sailing in it, swimming in it (especially swimming!). He would breathe in it if he could. When he isn't on board a ship, he is swimming in the water, day or night. Yet one more reason to be called, 'The Mermaid'.
Boys - Valtala discovered that he is a homosexual very early on in life. Though it often lands him in trouble (he does nothing to hide this fact about himself, and in fact, is quite brazen with his flirtation towards other men), trouble alone doesn't seem to stop him from pursuing sexual and romantic relationships with men.
Attention - It could be because of his beauty, or it could be because he could never get enough attention as a child, but whatever the reason, Valtala loves it in the limelight. Even when the attention isn't good, he'd take it over no attention at all. Valtala lives to cause statements and raise eyebrows, and will act out for attention, especially if he doesn't get it. Strengths:
Hardworking - Despite his tendency for theatrics (especially in his personal life), Valtala is an ambitious go-getter, and will work tirelessly to meet his goals, especially professional goals. He really dedicates himself to his craft, and expects others to do the same.
Dislikes:
Prudes - It's probably because they can't stand him as much as he can't stand them, but Valtala hates bland, bookish people who seem to have a stick lodged up their you-know-what. Nothing is less fun than a person who doesn't seem to want to have any fun at all. And if you can't have fun with someone, what good are they? Valtala will go out of his way to push the buttons of conservative people. It gives him more than just a bit of a rebellious streak. And again, HEAPS of trouble.
Liars - Valtala prefers to tell the truth over lying, and he cannot abide by anyone who doesn't. He's of the opinion that even if the truth is harder to hear, that is what should be said, at absolutely any cost. People who mislead others for their own personal gain drive Valtala up the wall, too.

Vain - Valtala knows he is beautiful, and he wants everyone else to know it, too. He is utterly obsessed with his own looks, mostly because he thinks that this is his most redeeming quality, and what gets him the most positive attention.

Valtala is very hands on and tactile, so he gesticulates a lot, and also spends a lot of time keeping his hands busy (such as fiddling with an object or playing with his hair). He also sighs a lot, albeit for various reasons.General Personality:
There's something to be said about a person who 'dances to the beat of their own drum'. Not all of it is good, but there certainly is something to be said about them. To Valtala, that is what matters most. He very much wants to be remembered, even if it is not in a good way. Few have a flare for the dramatic in the same way that he does. Fewer still have the stomach to live with that kind of drama every day, but here Valtala is, anyway. He's very much a young and reckless sort.At first meeting, Valtala may seem very shallow (and maybe even a bit of an airhead), but, whenever others invest more than a little of their time in him, he flourishes and grows in new ways, becoming more than just a pretty face. It does take some encouragement, however, as he has not found value for himself in ways other than that of his appearance, hence why he may be seen as shallow.

Important History:
01.01.726 & 0: Valtala is born, the first of two children, to his father, Lorian, and his mother, Thelinia.02.09.730 & 4: Becomes an older brother to his baby sister, Astoria.
732 & 6: Starts coming with his father on voyages into the sea. He has been raised by the seaside until this time.
735 & 9: Thelinia commits suicide without leaving a note. Lorian takes both his children to sea, although it is an unconventional decision to take his daughter with him. Valtala competes with Astoria for attention.
739 & 13: Valtala has his first crush on another boy. When Lorian finds out, he begs his son to hide this information, and the two have a a falling out. Valtala is sent to become an Apprentice as a result.
740 & 14: Valtala is dubbed 'The Mermaid' by bullies. At first he does not like this nickname, because he is not a girl, but later on, he decides to reclaim it and embrace it, and his newfound androgyny.
741 & 15: Valtala becomes a Senior Apprentice.
744 & 18: Valtala walks the tables to become a Journeyman. Those who hate him claim it's because of his father's rank, but the truth of the matter is that Valtala works very hard, and happens to be very good at Fishercraft.

Valtala is like an encyclopaedia for all the creatures in the ocean. He knows each one, where to catch them, and the general information regarding each piece of marine wildlife. If it exists, he knows how to catch it. He's also very good at knot work.Weaknesses:
Navigation. Even though he was taught to navigate by the stars, Valtala sometimes has trouble with the mathematics of navigation, and tends to try to avoid it as a result.Additional Information:
Valtala worked incredibly hard at being a fisherman, if only to spite those who would not like him for who he was. He did not make many friends at Seacraft Hall, which made him double down on his studies.
