736 & 5: Moves to Telgar Weyr with her mother and grandmother. When her grandmother looks to Ista Weyr and they move for the warmth, and her grandmother's bones, Zarel takes to the new location readily and with a curious nature. She runs everywhere, zooming all over the place to the constant, shrill creche workers telling her to slow down.
738 & 7: Helps oil a dragon, gets covered in oil and doesn't care. Proclaims she wants to be a Dragonrider or...bust, basically. Continually puts herself into situations that allow her see, touch, or help with dragon care. Bugs her mom for a firelizard of her own, though she loves Shard. Still has nightmares about the mudslide. She runs a great deal and enjoys it, and her mother doesn’t object because it wears her out.
740 & 9: Wins a race at a Gather for running - and she's fast, too.
741: Moves to Benden Weyr with her mom, still vows to become a Candidate and Dragonrider.
741: Meets Alekse for the first time as he runs in for a stay with her mother. Adores the man immediately. Gets running shoes from him and they go on runs together sometimes. She's very careful with her running shoes and only uses them on the traces she practises on.

Impresses Tayderell's bronze firelizard on accident. Causes a rift between the two weyrbrats that Zarel feels deeply guilty about. She swears to make it up to him and begins working extra hours for the Candidate Master, hoping to gain an egg early so she can give it to Taydee.
