General Description:

His face has just finally begun to lose its roundness, starting to lengthen. His features are still soft though, from his trusting brown eyes to his dimpling smile. He won’t ever have cheekbones you can cut yourself on, but that sounds too aloof and mean for him anyway.
He got out of shape during the year he returned to the north due to illness, but he’s back to exercise- he prefers swimming, but will run if there are no other options. He has a birthmark on his shoulder- a strawberry mark. He doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t make a fuss over it either.

General Dressing Style:

Beckitt dresses stylishly when he can get away with it, even if it’s just incorporating a bit of embroidery on the cuffs and collars of his everyday shirts. He loves excuses to wear fancier clothes, but they are few and far between. He is a tidy person, and it carries over to his appearance.

Likes:

Like 1: Music: Beckitt loves all music, but especially reels and other dancing music as they remind him of Gathers.
Like 2: Oiling Erebuth: He finds that it calms them both and can be quite meditative. Plus the oil keeps his hands soft despite his climbing habit.

Strength 1: Singing: Beckett loves to sing, and can frequently be heard humming or singing while working.
Strength 2: Loyalty: He is fiercely supportive of his friends and loyal to the Weyr. He won’t stand to hear negative things said about either.

Dislikes:

Dislike 1: Fellis: He has terrible nightmares whenever he’s given fellis, so he fights tooth and nail to avoid it when he’s sick.

Flaw 1: Trusting: Beckett wears his heart on his sleeve, and it’s gotten him into trouble several times (romantically and personally).
Flaw 2: Rash: He sometimes doesn’t think before he speaks or before he acts, especially if emotions are high

He has a habit of arching his eyebrows in an unwitting mimic of his father. He also is constantly humming or singing while working.

General Personality:

Beckitt tries hard to be helpful and friendly to as many as he can. But his naivete can be a problem sometimes and his rushing to defend his friends in squabbles doesn’t always end well.
He learned the value of hard work in Katilia and he desperately wants to Impress in order to impress his father and share that joy with his friends. He’s a diligent student, though he wishes he could move out of Candidate classes and into Weyrling classes. Even the repeated times standing on burning sands and being passed over haven’t killed that dream.

Important History:

721 & 1 turns: Beckitt is born and turned over to the creche. His father shows little interest, which is almost understandable given the tragedy of his half siblings’ deaths. Its continuation is hardly surprising.
730 & 9 turns: Journeymen are stolen from the North. Beckitt doesn’t like the sudden influx of strangers, but he is fascinated by the Harpers and the new songs they have. He spends as much time with them as they’ll allow, soaking music up like a sponge.
734 & 13 turns: Several of his friends and his mother are lost in the landslide which struck this Turn. He is depressed for months during the rebuild. It’s the lowest anyone has ever seen him, and he hardly sings.
735 & 14 turns: The move to Telgar is fascinating and terrifying. It’s freezing by comparison to Katilia, and he spends most of the turn sick, missing his first chances at Standing.
736 & 15 turns: He moves to Ista where the climate is more what he’s used to. He’s much happier again and gets his strength back, and he’s thrilled Mylorah and a couple other friends moved there too so he’s not on his own.
739 & 18 turns: As more and more of his friends Impress or move to other Weyrs he begins to wonder if he will ever Impress. He still puts on an optimistic front, but his closest friends can see right through it.
740 & 19 turns: He is horrified and delighted when he finally Impresses to blue Erebuth at Ista (Existential Dread clutch). The Touching and the Hatching were overwhelmingly emotional, and the three weyrlings are very fragile, with no one sure how long they will live. But he is absolutely besotted with his tiny blue and is slowly helping the shy dragonet to be less afraid of the huge scary world.
741 & 20 Turns: He finally admits his feelings to J'shom and they kiss on Turns End, entering a relationship over the remainder of the Turn. The Turn is full of ups and downs, with several health scares, but Erebuth finally graduates.
742 & 21 Turns: Erebuth and B'kit are struck by lighting trying to attend Aradissicath's latest hatching. They are critically injured.

Details:

Beckitt adored lessons, having an active imagination and endless curiosity. He gets bored easily if the lessons are repetitive though, and the last couple years as a candidate were a trial of patience. He especially loved music, and would frequently seek out the harpers who taught lessons, especially J'shom, to learn more.

Thallyath x Faxxonth at Ista Weyr on the 07.08.740 AL [Clutch Page] The Touching for this clutch was traumatic and unsettling, moreso than usual. And the Hatching itself was chaotic and heartbreaking, more hatchlings dying or dead, and the few who made it sickly and weak. B'kit was horrified and delighted to Impress the tiny blue, Erebuth.

Weyrlinghood

Compared to his clutchmates, Erebuth doesn’t look as terrible upon hatching; he is a lot smaller than the average blue of current times, but that seems to have allowed for him to claim some muscle structure where others lack it entirely. While still entirely too skinny to be healthy, he at least doesn’t look like he’s about to expire the moment he slithers out of his shell.
Unfortunately, that slight boost doesn’t afford Erebuth that much luxury in the long run. He struggles to eat, only able to stomach small amounts. As a result, in the beginning he eats with extreme frequency, but never more than what a grown man would consider a meal. As the weeks turn into months, his frequency will decrease, and his weight and health will suffer further.
By the time his one-turn birthday rolls around, should he still be alive, Erebuth will be much more akin to the skeletal form his siblings Hatched as, than the muscular and strong young dragon he should be.

Personality

Erebuth prefers to follow Beckitt’s lead. He’s a timid dragon, not one to make a spectacle and draw attention to himself, though he is perfectly fine with Beckitt having the spotlight. If too much attention should happen to fall on him, Erebuth seems to visibly wilt and is unsure whether he should engage in conversation, knowing that not everyone is kind. He will slowly open up to those that Beckitt seems to trust and eventually will be the first one out of the pair to greet those friends as his comfort level expands.
On the off chance someone pushes him too far, Erebuth will verbally throw down so to speak, standing up for Beckitt at all times and then himself. He won’t, cannot, tolerate anyone speaking ill of his mate who cares so deeply for him. Once he gets started, it’s hard to calm him again as Erebuth becomes a scrappy fella ready to argue with anyone. Beckitt and perhaps a trusted friend or two down the line will know the way to soothe him.

Quirks

Habits/Mannerisms: Erebuth will curl up and make himself as small as possible if he’s nervous or scared.
Likes: Being Oiled: It’s not that he’s a spoiled dragon that likes to be pampered, honest. It just feels so nice and relaxing.
Dislikes: The Dark: His vision isn’t as sharp as other dragons and while he can still see fairly well in the dark, there’s a loneliness to it that makes him feel isolated.
Strengths: Resilient: Despite his physical setbacks, Erebuth doesn’t let much keep him down. He knows he needs to be stronger and keeps fighting through lessons and failures.
