Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

General Description:
Daelyne is lean and not at all curvy. She's quite short, standing only a scant 5'3" tall but she makes up for her lack of height with her personality. Her eyes are quite wide, giving her an almost innocent look. It's a lie. Daelyne only pretends to be innocent. Her blue eyes are tipped with a set of full thick lashed and are something of an almond shape. Her blonde hair is thick and bright. There are times when it appears brassy and this is usually in the height of summer. Thick and wavy, it generally falls loosely about her shoulders.
General Dressing Style:
Daelyne is always clean, except for when she's not. She doesn't mind getting dirty if she's playing around with her daughter, but other than that she prefers to be clean. Her dressing style is much the same as a man's and one would be hard pressed to find Daelyne in a dress. Though she has found that dresses can be fun sometimes.

Habits & Mannerisms:
Daelyne has an awful habit of chewing on her fingernails. They are ragged and are generally uneven lengths.
General Personality:
Daelyne is fierce, she has no desire to be anything else. She adores her daughter and her sister, her father's not so bad either. Everyone keeps making Daelyne stand for clutches with gold eggs and that is not what she wants to impress. Daelyne has every intention of impressing green and woe be to anyone who tells her she can't. During a few flights when she came old enough, Daelyne found she quite enjoyed flight mothing. There was a certain thrill to it, a certain danger in losing riders. It gives her quite the adrenaline rush.

She doesn't lie. Daelyne thinks liars are a waste of space and she refuses to do so for anyone else. If someone wants her to lie to them or for them she'll tell them straight out to go between and stay there. Daelyne has a penchant for bronzeriders, which she's pretty sure stems from the fact N'vian sired her daughter. Kind of helped he took her virginity at the same time. Daelyne is loyal, it takes much for her to take that loyalty elsewhere and the person who loses it will likely never see it again.

Important History:
720 & 0: Birth. Joins sister Tavynia, does toddler stuff.
723 & 3: Her mother dies, she most likely cried when she couldn't find the woman, but Daelyne doesn't really remember her.
723-8 & 3-8: Doesn't really understand all the death that is visiting the dragons. All she knows is the keening is quite sad. The rest of the makeshift weyrs excitement when Nirinath finally rises bleeds onto the small girl and she's just as excited. Doesn't really understand what it means when the dragons between. Her father tries to shield her from the worst of it.
729 & 9: Accidentally stumbles across a firelizard nest in the process of hatching. Bonds Pixie a small green.
730 & 10: Doesn't particularly care that B'jin steals a healer. Kind of thinks it's a bit funny that all the adults are freaking out about it.
732-4 & 12-14: Decides she's going to start standing. No one will let her stand for Future Designs, no gold egg was present, she's pissed beyond reason for this. Has an intense desire to impress green and only green. She does not. Stands for Dangerous Days, The Hunted, The Pursuit, and Have Faith. Does not impress at any of them. Shortly after Have Faith hatches everyone's life is turned upside down by a landslide. Her arm is broken and remains stiff to this day. She'll stand and not impress at Carpe Diem.
735 & 15: Stands for Future Embarks still hoping for green. Does not impress. Daelyne finally goes north with everyone else. She's excited at the prospect of being somewhere new. Still intent on impressing green. Maybe being north will be where she shines. Stands for the clutches with gold eggs that would be hatched at Telgar. She doesn't impress at a single one of them. She's starting to have some serious doubts about standing any longer.
736 & 16: Goes on to Fort in time for Fragmented Memories. Still does not impress, more doubts are present.
737 & 17: Gets a little thrill out of flight mothing when N'vian of bronze Skorzanth is present. N'vian and his bronze lose their flight and Daelyne is right there to comfort him. She becomes pregnant with her daughter.
738-9 & 18-9: Birth's her daughter Daetra, she cares for the girl but knows she's better off in the creche with the rest of the babies. She visits from time to time, Pixie enjoys the girl. Starts standing again when the 'brat is weaned. Still hasn't impressed. She's beginning to think it'll never happen and is thinking of things she'll be doing with the rest of her life. Like flight mothing.

Weyrlinghood
If Pern had any idea what toxic waste was, they would think that this Hatchling came right out of a pool of it. Electric green extremities are eye catching, but it is the strange almost-white of the bulk of Tybalith’s body that is really startling, to say nothing of all the dark almost-black that edges it roughly, like someone got bored. Along the very rim, between light and dark, is a highlighter-yellow tinge, as if determined to emphasise the already startling change in colours.

Tybalith isn’t particularly noticeable in build, not in comparison to her hide, but she’s a nicely put together Weyrling. A little sturdier than the average green, she has a slinky way of moving that looks almost liquid. Her legs are strong and chunky, holding up a round belly that is often indented with the shapes of her food, because Tybalith thinks that chewing is for pansies.
Tybalith
Adulthood
Mindvoice
Tybalith has a sharp voice, that cuts right to the quick of the mind and demands attention. Her voice is rather androgynous, and as she isn’t prone to such girlish exploits as squealing or gushing (except over that brilliant punch Daelyne threw…) her voice rarely goes into the upper regions. When angry or fighting, Tybalith’s voice drops really low and has a kind of gravelly growl to it.
Personality
Tybalith came out of her egg ready to fight, and that will never change, no matter how old she gets. A fireball of a dragon, Tybalith will fight anyone, for any reason - except to defend her Bonded. Not that she doesn’t think that Daelyne should be defended, but rather that she believes her bonded should fight her own battles.

That said, unlike some Bonds, Tybalith and Daelyne will get along spectacularly; they won’t fight, and disagreements will be very rare. Granted, they will often egg one another on, and cause issues to escalate that could have been handled so much more simply than an all out battle of fists or attitude, but they understand each other, in a way that even some other dragons and their riders might fail to understand. But that’s okay, because they know they’re so much better than everyone else, anyway.
Quirks
Habits/Mannerisms: Tybalith has a habit of staring at people, but primarily other dragons, in a way that is definitely observed as insulting by those being stared at. She has a way of wrinkling her nose and lips just enough to be a sneer, her eyes whirling at just the right speed and colour, and her entire body dismissive and disgusted. This is how Tybalith picks fights, without coming right out and starting something.

Fighting: Tybalith doesn’t have ichor running in her veins, she has fuel to fight! Her entire day is ruined if she doesn’t have a good verbal war with at least one other dragon, or human. She enjoys spooking firelizards and generally causing mischief. But people have to know she did it, otherwise what is the point? This means that Tybalith never bothers with subtly; she not just wants, but needs, the credit for her troublemaking.

Hunting: The thrill of the chase, the boiling adrenaline raging through the body, the delicious hot blood or ichor on her tongue at the end of it all, and a full belly followed by a good nap. What isn’t to love about hunting?!

Getting dirty: Most dragons hate being dirty, but Tybalith enjoys it. It is a kind of proof to herself that her day was well spent; that she didn’t waste it lying in the sun like some fat gold, or miss out on adventures because she was afraid of getting a bit of mud between her toes! Sure, it means she has to have a bath, but honestly, a little water never hurt anyone and she is happy to soak off the mud in the Weyr lake

Dislikes:
Subtly: Subtly is for individuals who either don’t have the balls to go out and take what they want or are too concerned with the opinions of others to be who they are meant to be. Tybalith generally gets bored and frustrated with those that invest in being subtle. It goes over her head unless she’s actively looking for it, and it is a fantastic way to piss her off and get her ready for a fight.

Human Food: Some dragons love getting a taste for human food. Tybalith is not one of them. As a Hatchling, she’ll try things - especially if other dragons seem in or it or a firelizard has something she wants - but as she grows she will definitely come to appreciate that there is nothing good for her when it comes to human food.

Strengths:
Intelligent: Tybalith is intelligent; a lot more so than people or dragons are likely to give her, and she knows it. She’s not afraid to play the role of dumb green if it helps her further her own agenda, and while she will always be cautious when it comes to making friends, she’ll eventually get to the point where she has two or three solid confidants who are exactly aware of how shrewdly intelligent this green dragon is.

Stamina: For all that she’s neither-here-nor-there in regards to her size in relation to other green dragons, Tybalith has great stamina, and will develop into a green that can fly both strong and long. She will of course never be up to the full Threadfall of the larger dragons, but she will be able to power through for at least a third longer than her clutchmates or elder greens.

Flaws:
Spirited: … well, that would be the nice way of describing Tybalith. Hot-headed, bull-headed and obnoxious would also work. She’s usually of one mind, and that’s that things should be her way or the highway. When folks don’t like her way, she’s more than happy to fight with them about it. Being a dragon, she favours verbal sparring rather than physical confrontation with her fellow dragons - but she’s more than willing to rough and tumble to the death with wild Whers when she’s feeling that special itch for blood and a real fight.

Distrustful: Tybalith quickly learned that very few people - and some dragons - do not like women riders, and that both she and Daelyne are cash into the pits for such a Bond. Granted, Tybalith is convinced she and Daelyne will show them all wrong, but the comments and looks will stick with her through Weyrlinghood, and after the first few times she thought she made friends only for them to hold negative opinions about her choice of lifemate, will render Tybalith distrustful of all those around her, and their intentions when they attempt to so much as talk to her.
