Benden is hit with a heavy heatwave in the last week of Month Six, and first week of Month Seven, which carries through to the end of the month. Their weather will begin to cool in the last week of the month, dropping to the low 30s.

Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

Brown
Height:
6'0
Hair Colour:
Brown, shaggy
Build:
Average
General Description:
Large, almond-shaped, and chocolate brown.

Straight black hair that is kept in a short shag that he doesn't put much effort into styling.

In both height and build, Quintalis is average, perhaps even slightly below the expected standard. He has yet to fully shed his boyish shape that gives his face an innocent and, some would say, innocent baby face. His body shows a man that has lifted heavy objects in his life and doesn't over-eat at the table, showing just the slightest hint of a budding six pack.
General Dressing Style:
When he was helping at the tavern, he followed the code of practical yet trendy. Farnath forbid anyone think they were scraping the bottom of the social barrel or showed any reputable customer a rip or snare in a sleeve.

In his down time, Quinvalis preferred simple attire. Colour didn't matter to him and even the latest style meant nothing to him, so long as it fit, was clean, and comfortable.
Ryosuke Yamada
Personality
Likes:
His necklace: It was his mother's and she gave it to him the day he was Searched, saying how proud she was of him. It's a simple thin chain with a small red gem on it. Quilriana has had it since she was a girl and says it's a piece of her heart going with him. Quinvalis never takes it off.

Sleep: He never seems to get enough. Growing up on a farm meant early rising. Helping in a tavern meant late to bed at times and early to rise to help prep food. Now, Weyr life has him getting up early for lessons or chores. One day he'll feel like he's getting enough.

Baths Ater a day of playing with or cleaning up horses, it inspires you to bathe daily. Working in a kitchen also has people ensuring you're at least washing your hands.
Strengths:
Hard-working: Quinvalis puts his all into what he does as he wants to take pride in what he produces.

Respectful: His mother made sure he always showed those older than him and in higher positions than him the proper respect they deserved. Not wanting to disappoint her, Quinvalis is always polite to those of higher rank than himself.

Great Listener: He may not be good at giving any advice, but he'll listen to everything you have to say in silent support of what's on your mind or he's simply paying attention to a lesson or directive.
Dislikes:
Cats: It's not that he hates them but he's allergic and they make him sneeze and itch horribly.

Strategy: He's not that great at thinking a step or two ahead of the game. His mother always beat him in games like chess and even in lessons when he's given a problem to solve, Quinvalis struggles with thinking outside the box. He'd rather just get to the solution or location without plotting everything out.

Being Late: Quinvalis does his best to be on time or even a tad early. He feels it shows he's not interested in what he's showing up for if he's not punctual.
Flaws:
Intense Headaches: While they don't happen on a regular basis, Quinvalis gets a pounding headache in his left temple that at best leaves him wincing and closing his eyes for a moment and at worst, he needs to sleep through the pain.

Reactive: Like most people, he has certain subjects that will set him off if they're insulted or made fun of. He tries his best not to let it get the best of him but sometimes a man simply can't let an insult fly without a fist flying back in return.

Trust Issues: Given his extended family keeps seeing him as a threat and taking away what should be his or worrying he might take what isn't, Quinvalis takes a while to fully open up to people and let them get close.
Habits & Mannerisms:
He is a neat-freak; constantly tidying up thanks to keeping his mother happy when he was younger and never feeling like the tavern was his home and he would be intruding if he was messy. He'll occassionally drag his feet when his mood is low.
General Personality:
Quinvalis quietly struggles with depression, brought on by the loss of his father at a young age and being kicked out of the farm that should have one day been his. It was hard losing everything he had known to people he had always thought to be loving family but to then watch his mother wait tables and help in her family's tavern didn't help. He wanted the best for her but he couldn't do much as a child. As he got older, he tried to pick up more shifts when it came to cooking, cleaning, and even serving. When it became obvious his cousin might think of him as competition a true sense of insignificance and that he just wasn't worth anything.

Now, given his chance at possibly Impressing a dragon and having a life of his own, Quinvalis is very eager to prove his worth both as a Candidate and as a vital part of the Weyr. This desire intensifies when R'nya is around as he sees the bronzerider as a somewhat father figure but also the definition of a dragonrider. While he's not sure if it'd ever be likely that he'd be Weyrleader one day, let alone simply Impressing a bronze, Quinvalis is motivated to do his best and might even over extend himself in his attempts to show everyone he's not just some poor farmer's boy that had to grow up in a tavern.

He still has his moments of struggling with self-worth and if people truly like or appreciate him but Quinvalis adapts wherever he is and continues to try his best. Outside of chores and away from the watchful eyes of his superiors, Quinvalis relaxes a bit more and can be playful and can have fun with anyone he calls friend; which may only be a select few given his trust issues brought on by not knowing if anyone is plotting against him like most of his own family seemed to be.

Important History:
723 & Born: Quinvalis is born; first child for his parents.

724-727 & 1-4: Quinvalis is the typical carefree boy being spoiled by his mother and staff from infancy into the years of a rambunctious toddler, gaining a baby sister along the way.

729-730 & 6-7: His father hires a Harper to begin a proper education for the eldest son of a Lord, as minor as that title might be.

731 & 8: During his usual morning routines, Valistan ended up being kicked in the chest by a startled horse. The healers couldn’t do anything and he passed away from the internal injuries. His brother lays claim on the farm and, not wanting to keep her children near the horses or stay there anymore, Quilriana moves back to the tavern to help out.

732 & 9: After saving up enough tips and a couple of favours, his mother is able to pay for Quinvalis to sit in on Harper lessons to continue his education.

734 & 11: His mother begins spending time with bronzerider R'nya. He worries at first but sees how happy she is and ends up approving of the man. In fact, he too, is a bit smitten and hangs onto R'nya's every word when he tells stories.

736 & 13: His mother asks R'nya to take him to Fort Weyr with him to give him a better chance at something. She worries his cousins will think he's after the inheritance of the tavern but also sees the sparkle in his eyes whenever he gets to see Xyreith.

737-738 & 14-15: After being accepted quite easily by the residents of Fort Weyr, Quinvalis finds a routine he's comfortable with in terms of juggling chores, lessons, and the ocassional helping hand to the Weyrleader. He's even made some friends and finds himself laughing more than he used to and looking forward to time with his friends. There's even talks of getting a firelizard soon!

739 & 16: Quinvalis struggles still to make friends and to make R'nya proud. He finally decided to try Standing at the other Weyrs and was met with carnage on the Sands. He mostly sticks to Fort Hatchings after that.

740 & 17: While he's been keeping in touch with Madiquel via letters while she's at the Hall, Quinvalis decides to tell her in person at a Gather that he likes her. It ends up back firing as he sees her with A'tay and realises he never had a chance with her. He does, however, end up making friends with F'drel and Halomirth after running into them after that scene. He spends the rest of the year worrying about Madiquel after she Impresses.

Gold Malvayth x Brown Yanth at Fort Weyr on the 14.02.742 [Clutch Page] Name Inspiration: Sadalsuud, Aquarius constellation
Weyrlinghood
Starting out as the tiniest blue of the clutch with an especially bright gold spot on his belly, Dalsuth grows quickly to become the biggest blue boy of the batch. His rapid growth spurt does not help his inherent clumsiness. He is a naturally lithe baby, and despite an endless appetite does not seem to put on much fat.
Dalsuth
Adulthood
Dalsuth grows into a lean muscular dragon reminiscent of a taut bowstring. The most colorful and brightest of his blue siblings, his brilliant hide and contrasting marbled markings makes him easy to spot and adds a certain flair to his aerial displays.
Mindvoice
While every other part of Dalsuth is loud and boisterous, his voice is usually rather soft. He'd rather speak through action so he doesn't feel the need to raise his voice. It is a rather pleasant tenor though, with a calm and soothing quality.
Personality
A bold and carefree daredevil, Dalsuth thinks that he and Quinvalis are incredibly lucky to have found each other. He enjoys plummeting headlong from one bold move or adventure into another and can sometimes be over eager and downright reckless. He trusts his life mate to handle the bigger judgement calls and reign him in (though admittedly he doesn't always enjoy it or agree). While he does have his wild moments seeking the next big thrill, he also enjoys socializing with other dragons or quietly watching humans socialize while he lounges nearby.
Quirks
Dalsuth doesn't lay down so much as he sprawls. Laying down is the only way that Dalsuth can be still and comfortable at the same time so he tends to do it with style. He enjoys flopping onto his back with wings spread and limbs sticking up at awkward angles, or otherwise contorting himself into odd shapes.

Likes:
Adrenaline - An adrenaline junky to the core, Dalsuth loves the rush he gets from daring feats and risky maneuvers.
People Food - Dalsuth is just so curious about people food and enjoys getting to try little tiny nibbles and tastes of it, even occasionally stealing things that are left unattended.

Dislikes:
Moving Slowly - It might seem like Dalsuth is impatient, but he really just doesn't like how clumsy and awkward he feels when he's not moving at a good and brisk pace.
Liars - It's hard to be optimistic when you can't trust people, and liars ruin that.

Strengths:
Quick - Dalsuth isn't just a fast flyer. With quick eyes, quick thinking, and quick reflexes, Dalsuth has the uncanny ability to seem incredibly lucky with last minute recoveries to salvage a stunt gone wrong, nimbly avoiding collisions, or even just spotting trouble as it's about to happen.
Optimistic - Even when things do go wrong Dalsuth is quick to find the bright side, frequently citing good fortune that nothing worse happened. He's incredibly encouraging and unafraid of new experiences.

Weaknesses:
Clumsy - While Dalsuth can move quickly with impressive grace, he is very clumsy when trying to move slowly and even has trouble staying in formation when forced to keep his speed in check. He has a poor sense of balance when he's standing still and sometimes will just start to lean in one direction until he falls over if he's not able to shift his weight and fidget about.
Reckless - Dalsuth is over confident in his ability to get himself out of a jam, and sometimes forgets that it doesn't always matter how good his reflexes are, especially when other dragons are involved in the mix.
