Were we planning to go to Practice? Larrikith's voice was sly as it brushed delicately against the edge of B'jin's mostly-asleep mind and the greenrider murmured under his breath as he rolled over and ignored her, cuddling closer to R'nd as he did so. I didn't think so, Larrikith answered happily, curling back up against Ayyonth (who looked far less inclined to go back to sleep) and closing her eyes in preparation to enjoy further napping.
Only to have the bronze dragon screeching in her mind and making the little green bark in startled surprise. What the-! Larrikith gave a grumpy grumble as the echoes of Xyreith's voice faded from her mind and her wing twitched irritably. Stupid, arrogant, arsehole bronzes and their obnoxious attitudes! All the same... Larrikith sighed and huffed as she stood up and stretched. B'jin, wake up. The tiny green's voice was bored and lazy as she poked at B'jin's mind. Xyreith is getting his tail in a knot. We gotta go to Wing Practice. The words brought forth a flood of sleepy memories from the man, most of them indicating that they had had a reputation for being on time and being favoured. Well, if that was the case Larri thought with amusement, they were off to a bad start.
"'ingpr'tce?" B'jin slurred, waking up under the dragon's lazy insistence and frowning sleepily in her vague direction. It would seem so. And we'll be late if you don't get your lazy arse out of bed. She was laughing at him now, and B'jin groaned as he flomped his head onto R'nd's arm. "Late?" Yes. You know, that thing when you're not on time? The little dragon chuckled to herself as she streched her wings out and then folded them to her sides. B'jin grumbled. "Who the fuck schedules wing practice at this hour?" Our new Wingleader, apparently. Do you really want to be late, love? Because you're doing a wonderful job of it.
As the things Larrikith was saying finally penetrated his brain, B'jin gave a hiss and sat up, sending half the bedding careening to the floor and kicking R'nd in the shin in the process. Exclaiming in surprise, and moving to give R'nd a quick and apologetic kiss B'jin instead proceeded to topple off the bed to land with a dull thump atop the bedding he'd unintentionally sent to pad his fall a moment earlier. Larrikith burst into laughter while B'jin swore. Seeing R'nd was receiving his own form of harassment from Ayyonth, B'jin thought better of kissing the other man and instead dodged around the room to frantically find whatever it was he had been wearing before they'd distracted each other. And quickly realised it would not be acceptable for a wing training session. "Shit. Fuck. Larri!" Bouncing across the room as he shoved his feet into his pant legs, B'jin fled the hut to fling himself atop his still laughing dragon. "Shut up! Home! Now!" Are you sure? You don't want to... No? Really? Okay okay, I'm going. Still chuckling, Larrikith flickered between to their own hut.
They were far from the first pair to arrive, B'jin realised as he looked around, but they weren't the last, so he was pretty sure that didn't mean they were late, right? Following orders, the greenpair landed without fuss or comment, Larrikith creeping a little closer to Ayyonth as she watched with interest the bronze hovering above them. B'jin tossed R'nd a quick glance, before focusing on their Wingleader as he and his dragon landed and the man slid to the ground. "Shit," it was a soft hiss on an exhale, but B'jin's eyes widened significantly. Some Wingleaders he'd known had used a policy such as R'nya was employing. Most had gone by the 'last is late' and learning that he was late regardless had the greenrider's expressive face contorting into an unhappy grimace. Told you! Larrikith singsonged, before hissing when Xyreith scolded her for not paying attention.
B'jin's response to T'shiro was immediate; the greenrider shrank back on his dragon, before sliding off her immediately and standing by her side with wide, anxious eyes. The continued barking of orders had the timid greenrider trembling as he jumped to obey, shooting wide-eyed and anxious glances regularly at the parading bronze. Too scared to question the bronze, B'jin dropped to the ground to do the pushups. It was clear the greenrider had the technique and style to carry out the pushups flawlessly, but his strength was another question and B'jin struggled visibly to complete all ten required before climbing to his feet once more and eyeing the required sprint length. Fuck Better you than me! Larrikith cheered happily, and B'jin shot her a smug look as he dug up a series of memories of a past similar to the present, where he was running laps while Larrikith was being forced to run with him. The green dragon baulked visibly and turned her attention on Xyreith with a flick of her tail.
Realising he was standing there like a dickhead, B'jin's eyes widened again and he took off to trail after the other riders. While his sprint a lacked the speed of most of his fellows, he again displayed a technique that indicated a lot of skill for the task - and an extreme lack of actually using that skill for a very long time. Since Weyrling training... almost thirty turns ago. B'jin focused on keeping his breathing even as he dropped to do another round of pushups. Hello, grass.
