Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Instead of answering Sanderon's questions, I'shan seemed to avoid them all together. And he seemed to be in a hurry to leave. He did agree to send for Talian though which was the only relief Sanderon could hope for. He nodded slightly when I'shan encouraged him to hold tight and then hurried out of the room.
When the door closed behind the man, Sanderon heard the unmistakeable sound of a lock being secured. He was to be locked in this room? Wasn't being back on the island good enough to keep him contained? Slowly he lay back down upon his pillow again and stared at the closed door. He did not blame them for keeping him locked up. He did not trust himself now either.
A few minutes past and Sanderon wondered where I'shan had gone. Was he alone now? Had they left him here? Soon after the distress of abandonment threatened to seep into his mind, Ilveriath's voice came into his head. It made him stiffen. He had hated the blue for a long time now. Sanderon frowned. He was too tired to hate anymore. He just didn't have it in him. Sighing heavily, he 'listened' to the blue's words.
I'shan was preparing him a meal? Really? Sanderon thought that was incredibly kind considering how he had so recently felt about the man. He did not know if he could eat anything though. His mind was in a turmoil and he felt too sick at heart for food. It was nice though that they had not left him on the island by himself.
Moving carefully he lay upon his back and turned his eyes to the ceiling. It was some consolation not to feel the slash marks so severely anymore. They were now only an aching reminder of what he had gone through. Not thinking on that for long, his mind kept going back to his bouts of rage. Putting a hand over his eyes, Sanderon lay there with deep hurt in his heart and fear in his gut. The things he could have done distressed him to no end. What had gotten into him? Would it happen again?
He wasn't alone with his thoughts for long before he felt the blue dragon in his head again. At first he wanted to reject it and push it away, but he didn't. His own mind scared him. He did not want to be alone with his troubled thoughts anymore.
Many of us are capable of unthinkable acts in times of stress. But you should not linger on the past.
Sanderon nodded slightly as a heavy foreboding settled upon him and he mumbled, "That is easier said than done."
The blue stayed silent after that but Sand could feel an added presence in himself that hadn't been there before. It felt comforting and maybe even a little safe. He knew it was the blue and he opened up his mind to Ilveriath come what may. He appreciated not being left to himself.
Not long after that, the sound of the door lock being fiddled with came to his ears and he turned his eyes away from the ceiling and rested them upon the door. He figured it would be I'shan...and he was right.
The smell of the food came to his nose making his gut tighten painfully. The sight of the delicious-looking soup, that I'shan placed on the small table-stand near his bed, made his mouth water. Perhaps he could eat something after all.
The idea of him needing help to accomplish the simple task of sitting up was irritating at first. He was extremely weak. He looked to I'shan and was surprisingly touched by the man's kindness in offering to help. Sanderon wasn't the type to accept help though, and so he worked at propping himself up against the wall at the head of his bed, with his knees up a bit for support. It wasn't easy, but he made it.
I'shan yelled at the wall where he figured Ilveriath might be a moment after and it actually made a slight grin turn up one corner of Sanderon's mouth. His eyes towards I'shan were now hesitantly thankful for his efforts and he nodded once to the man to show his thanks.
Seeing the amount of soup in the large bowl there, Sanderon looked to I'shan and said with a slightly stronger voice, "Have some too?"
After taking a few bites, he licked his lips as it settled warmly in his empty stomach. Each little bit filling him with a little more strength. "That is very good." He commented. Then after pausing in thought for a moment he couldn't help but look to the blue rider and ask, "I'shan...why are you being so nice to me? I thought you hated me. I shot your dragon." His brow creased into a frown with the memory. He took another few sips of the soup and waited for what I'shan might have to say. He wondered if perhaps the man might want to enact his revenge now for having been reminded. But at this particular moment, Sanderon would have welcomed it.
