Tyrrisath didn't speak. He didn't have to in order to send scum like Astoreth scrambling. The brown put on an impressive show as he emerged from between, dropping heavily onto the ground and baring his teeth at the green in question. She shrieked, terrified at the sudden appearance of so strong and cruel a dragon, and immediately curled into a submissive position between Tyrrisath and his green princess.
The brown dragon unloaded his rage at her, staring at her through fiery eyes and shaking the very ground with his throaty bellows. Astoreth shrieked again in response, clawing her way along the ground and reaching out for her rider. Astoreth was spunky, but at her heart, she was submissive. Her games were nothing more than flashy advertisements for challengers, and she viewed being put in her place as part of the game.
It wasn't supposed to go like this, though.
A'liran! A'liran!
Her wailing calls and tremors of fear made the greenrider physically stumble. He cursed and reached for his forehead, trying to force his way through the instant migraine and flood of primal fear to figure out what was happening. He spun around, reaching out with both hands to caress the neck of his precious green, so rattled by the brown's aggression. He didn't see the form of a stocky man in the ugliest shirt of all time dropping to the ground from the brown dragon's neck.
S'kef prowled around Astoreth, eyes locked harshly on A'liran. "What did you do to him?!" the enraged brownrider screamed. "Get out of here, you filthy, low-life slut! Go back to the gutter you crawled out of!"
A'liran's eyes widened, and he swiftly realized that he was going to get pulverized if he didn't move. His own emotions were so tightly wound in Astoreth's that he couldn't restrain himself. The green wanted nothing more than to flee before the higher-ranking dragon, and as her waves of terror filled A'liran, he realized he must. They must. Scowling, he sprang onto her neck and the pair fled, disappearing between without even clearing the ground.
S'kef stood there, panting heavily for a moment. Tyrrisath just rustled his wings and snorted. The pair stood in complete silence for a few long moments, each trying to analyze the other's feelings while at the same time prepare a response.
Was A'liran upsetting him?
Sort of Tyrrisath replied. He'd been angry enough to rile S'kef into an unreasonable rage, but it had nothing to do with J'ver. Astoreth was upsetting Rila; now that was the real problem!
S'kef scowled as he realized he'd been duped. ...You lied to me. You lied to me?
It got you over here, didn't it? Tyrrisath asked bluntly as he nosed at the wherry carcass Astoreth had left behind. He carefully lifted it in his jaws before presenting it to Rilaleeyth. Then, with a personable croon, For you.
S'kef was speechless. He looked at the ground, his back still turned from J'ver, and realized there was no escape. He had no choice but to turn around and face his precious greenrider after an entire month of rejection.
His pride weighed heavily, but he couldn't shake those feelings Tyrrisath had doubled back on him before. The emptiness was still there, perhaps now more than ever. Defeated, the brownrider sighed.
"Jai?"
He turned around and started to walk forward, eyes locking immediately onto J'ver's.
