Allendris, in turn, direction his attention back to Valerian, for the healer had confirmed his suspicions: something about this hunting story had been intentionally embellished. Or at least, some portion of the truth had been omitted in order to save some face for the storyteller. That was typical harper business, however, and given the life-threatening nature of the circumstances the glass-smith could have easily forgiven Valerian for his slightly creative reporting of the events that had brought him here to the Healing Hall... were in not for the fact that the smart-mouthed man had been joyfully needling him over his sunburn since arrival. The slight smile that crossed the young journeyman's lips was once again serene, and his voice was miraculously free of accusation or judgment when he remarked, simply, "I imagine he must've fallen when he was running from them, yes?"

But that didn't mean the truth of the story, once revealed, didn't make him want to laugh... just a little. He managed to cover it with a cough. "I suppose I am not the only one who is a danger to himself."
