R'dal already knew F'drel wasn't a fan of Hatchings as they had a way of messing with his anxiety but then one of his sisters started Standing and that just shot through the roof. But with the heat, R'dal felt like his friend was a bit more sedated and he had a feeling it would be a great Hatching! Or, he thought that until they both spotted Maliah arrive and instead of coming to sit with them (R'dal was frantically waving for her attention) she sat with Kor'is. For some reason this didn't seem to sit well with F'drel and R'dal had to keep patting his leg or giving little snuggles to help keep his friend calm and distracted. He personally thought it was great that those two were chatting. It was always good to make friends!
He recognised a lot of people that were Impressing and gave little cheers for each one. He also winced and bit his lip every time a dragonet attacked a sibling or a human. There seemed to be more than usual but with even Edath seeming to melt on his upper perch, R'dal wondered if the babies were extra cranky and if the heat was making the humans sluggish and they weren't dashing out of the way fast enough. Speaking of the heat, R'dal had a bag of fruit he had swiped from breakfast and kept feeding himself and F'drel to keep them hydrated and sweet; along with their water of course.
He was just cheering for August's Impression of the gold when more chaos came out. He was already partially draped over F'drel from earlier attempts to keep the man in his seat and not chasing after either sister but now R'dal fully crawled into the greenrider's lap when the gasp drew his attention to where Ferra was standing. Only now she was on the ground and it didn't look good. Not horrible, at least, but not good either.
"You can't go down there with so many hatchlings still roaming. Wait for the Healers to get to her," R'dal was pleading, an arm now around F'drel's neck as he somewhat clung to the man. He was debating to merits of completely turning around and fully clinging with arms and legs when Ferra started receiving medical attention. She seemed alert. That was good.
Once it became clear that she was being moved from the area R'dal finally scooted back over to his seat to let F'drel up. "Do you want me to go with you?" He asked softly, almost afraid he'd be turned down but the nod he was given eased those fears and R'dal quickly grabbed his bag and followed after his friend.
