Greens? Sure, they were feisty but Kor’is was more worried about the bronze that was injured and angry. He waited until everything had settled down and scanned the scene below. The few people he knew seemed fine if perhaps a bit rattled and the eggs seemed to have quieted down. So he risked a glance at his companion and frowned when she asked, nicely, if he wanted water. “Please,” he replied out of habit from growing up in the Hold. Most assumed, and perhaps correctly, that lords were assholes without manners but as a child such things were drilled into his head, especially when speaking to someone that outranked him. Maliah certainly didn’t outrank him but even he sometimes slipped up and was nice. Because you are nice! Kor’is winced and muttered, “dragon,” so he looked only mildly crazy and rude.
When a cup of water was passed to him, Kor’is nodded in thanks before gratefully chugging back half of it. He should have brought his own but at least the Weyr was providing for their guests. “I don’t like Hatchings either,” he confessed, rather late to the earlier statement that had been interrupted by the chaos on the Sands. “That was a good example for part of the reason.” He wouldn’t share the other part. She hadn’t earned that level of opening up.
As he watched Mylorah tend to those she clearly deemed herself in charge of, Kor’is thought about Ferra and Orgailian. It really didn’t surprise him that she was there for a sister but Orgailian? And sweet? He found Orgailian to be flirty but fairly aloof and wouldn’t have classified him as sweet. “So corrupting sweet boys is your new pastime?” Kor’is asked just as a blue hatched and almost made him smile with his cheerfulness.
