Mylorah watched in horror as multiple greens hatched into the fight that was going down and how it devolved into an all-out brawl. The sounds were awful. Screaming mind voices, screeching out loud, hissing, and general chaos had her unsure of what to do. So far they weren’t near the epicentre but that didn’t stop her from grabbing the hands of Zoremet and Zelana to drag them a bit further back. She didn’t have enough hands to grab Orgailian as well but he was generally pretty good at keeping out of the way of such things and proved it then as he also quietly moved away.
Just as she felt like they were in a safe spot and still had room to run without getting clumped up, Mylorah saw a green charge toward a group and saw Elloren go down. She gasped and squeezed the hands she was holding while waiting to see how bad it was. “Get up, please be okay,” she whispered softly, genuine fear for a friend in her voice. She couldn’t lose more people! She didn’t know Elloren as well as other people due to usually being in different Weyrs but she liked the woman and generally didn’t want to see anyone hurt.
But she couldn’t keep her eyes on the victims that were falling all over the place, not when scared and angry hatchlings were still running free. Mylorah tried to track them all but gave up and kept her eye on the bronze and gave a sigh of relief when he finally Impressed and seemed a bit calmer. From talking with other Candidates after the Hatching, Mylorah had the impression that these babies were going to be little spitfires but she hadn’t imagined anything like this. As she let go of a hand to wipe at her brow she almost laughed but couldn’t bring herself to with the carnage around the Sands. “Spicy heat for spicy hatchlings.”
By the time the little blue emerged sometime later, Mylorah had made sure her little group took a water break and she finally allowed herself to smile again. While she was still worried about those that were injured, it was still nice to see the hatchlings and such a sweet boy this one was as well. It broke her heart a bit to see his good mood falter when some Candidates startled away from him but she believed he made a good choice in mate and the boy would explain everything well.
