Egg #13 to Zelly
The mind inside the shell reached out for Zelly with just as curious of a hello. What was this? Who was this? Were they special? Why did they not want to touch their sister? Was their sister ugly? They bet their sister was ugly. All thoughts of poisons and cures completely ignored as Zelly would be swamped with a sudden and childish sense of amusement at the thought of their ugly golden sister, enough so that the troubles of the weyr might be forgotten in a brief and happy moment.
Egg #4 to Zoremet
The mind inside the egg was measuring, solid and rather stoic as it took in the thoughts of the boy who touched it. While Zoremet had a sweet quality, something that the mind should have strove to reach for, it couldn’t help to give off a sense of failure. This was not correct and not right, please be gone and make it quick.
Egg #11 to Nimuelan
The dragonet inside was slow to reveal itself, blooming almost like a slow moving flower before it was awake. It delved into Nimuelan’s mind with the ferocity of an angry feline and the finesse of a child. Which it was, after all, but it was looking, looking and looking. Oh how interesting this girl was! She liked children? Would she like dragon children? Because dragon children were clearly the best. Nimuelan would have a sense of excitement and chaos before the mind slipped from hers in a dervish of activity.
Gold Egg to Kaitryn
The touch to Kaitryn’s mind was soft and very nearly missed as the other mind reached out. It was exhausting, the reaching and Kaitryn might have that sudden sense of sleepiness, of exhaustion that took her knees from her. But the mind did not think her selfish, far from it, strong enough to come to the possibility of helping another live. That was true strength. The withdrawal from Kaitryn’s mind was nearly painful in it’s slowness before there was nothing but silence remaining.
Gold Egg to Ferra
Why so nervous? Was Ferra so frightened of life that she forgot that she was strong? The quiet mind of the dragonet could feel that strength, brimming just beneath the surface if only Ferra would reach for it. There was soft humor in the tone of the mind as it searched through the mind to find tidbits of Ferra’s life and the raspberries being blown just before the touch. Having fun was an okay thing and nothing to look bad about. A yawn, deep and heavy, would suddenly sweep through Ferra’s mind before there was nothing there to latch onto.
Egg #05 to Mylorah
Happiness and excitement would hit Mylorah from the moment she set her hand on the egg. A whirlwind of activity as the mind inside the egg swept in and back out of all the crevices of Mylo’s mind. What fun this one had! All the excitement and living. They wanted to live, would Mylo show them how? The mind swept back out just as quickly as it swept in, taking the memories of Mylo’s favorite bronzeriders with it.
Egg #26 to Taydarell
The grip of the mind of Taydarell’s was firm, almost too tight but there. It sized the boy up, for that was what he was, a boy. Did he have what it would take to be a dragonrider? The gumption to do what was required of him? Speak up boy! What did Taydarell think he was capable of? It had better be enough because Taydarell would be their future. The grip released and the mind slipped back out but not before giving Taydarell what appeared to be a comforting pat on the head.
Egg #21 to Orgailian
Better than the rest and you’d better believe it! The shout was loud and somewhat obnoxious, maybe enough to elicit a wince from Orgailian but the little mind didn’t care. It was a bright light in the darkness that it figured was all that was to Orgailian’s mind. If it bothered to delve a little deeper it would see there was more to Orgailian than the little bit of emptiness it had found at first. Oh well! It was too busy to bother looking further and then it was gone, leaving Orgailian’s mind as empty as it had found it.
Egg #09 to Ulliendis
This healer in Ulliendis' mind seemed interesting. What was a harper? Was a harper fun? Did they do things that candidates couldn’t? Why did Ulliendis have to be a good little candidate? Was he a bad candidate? Did he do bad things? The questions splashed through the young man’s mind, curious and pointed but whether that had any effect on the candidate was up to him. The mind inside the egg took great pleasure as it gently pushed and pulled at memories here and there, pulling escapades to the fore with delight before stuffing them back down. What an interesting mind and then the presence was gone like a wisp of smoke.
Egg #10 to Narinoa
Such deference, such respect shown to its mother and the presence inside Narinoa’s decided he was a fine lad. Thoughts and ideals, habits and actions pulled out and rifled through before gently placed back. Narinoa did good things, even if he thought differently, perhaps there would be someone here for the healer. Was he a healer? It seemed he was. The small presence liked the calm of Narinoa’s mind and would have rolled around in it for hours if a nap didn’t suddenly call to it. It left Narinoa with a sense of success and a future full of potential before yawning deeply as it slipped away.
