He grinned at her when she agreed to teach him to read. He didn't think she'd be all that successful in doing something his father couldn't even do but D'io liked the idea of being around her whenever he was in Ista. He settled himself on the creaky couch, scooting so she was comfortable enough sitting next to him, and waited patiently for her to begin reading. "Oh I don't think I'll get bored," he told her softly, "But if I do, I promise to tell you and I can always carry you again."
He grinned when she cleared her throat and started reading. He leaned over, arm slinging across the back of the couch as she settled in closer and closer to him. It was a comfortable weight next to him and he tried to follow along with her small finger as she read the words. He posed questions here and there, making sure she pronounced a few of the words more than once while he whispered them under his breath.
It was a fun story and he was quite enjoying himself when she started stuttering over words. Concerned he looked at her and realized her cheeks were flushed again. What was it about these books that made Ferra blush like that? It only served to pique his curiosity even more. He laid a gentle hand over hers before she could start flipping through pages. "Ferra," he told her with a small shake of his head, "How am I supposed to learn if you don't tell me all the words?"
