“I love you,” T’ryn whispered as he held Cazan close during her sobs and rambling about being crazy and him leaving her. He almost pointed out he hardly noticed a difference in pre-pregnancy and current Cazan but that was one of those comments that he filtered and threw out before giving voice. Some gentle teasing he could still get away with but he knew that one would upset Cazan and she’d think he always thought she was crazy and he didn’t want to work her out of that spiral.
When the giggle came, maybe he did have a moment of thinking her crazy before the explanation came. Ah, Malvayth’s logic struck again and T’ryn chuckled with her. “I love her innocent outlook on everything. It’s all very black or white with her, isn’t it? And I’ll still gladly take the blame for all of this since it means I get to spoil you more than usual.” He’d been making sure she ate since they first met and nothing had changed since that moment. Only now he surprised his mate with mugs of tea or found the food she mentioned a craving for. He even felt he was getting rather good at shoulder and feet massages.
“Am I allowed to admit that the thought of our baby in the egg costume with a little hat is absolutely precious and I’m going to find someone to do it?” He also wondered how Kor’is or B’jin were at drawing babies. He’d love to have a picture of their kid in the egg costume sitting with Malvayth—and Syrendryth if the old grump would go for it. The dragon version of their little family.I would sit for that. It’s something that would be special to you and your mate.
