Ah another one of her favorite oil helpers Impressed! Truly her babies were good at picking their mates, Malvayth thought as she watched. You realize they'll be too busy being here taking care of their dragons and attending weyrling classes to be able to oil you now, right? Mal's eyes widened as she turned to Cazan. But who will oil me until you clutch?! Cazan gave her a reassuring pat. I'm sure we'll figure something out.
The gold turned to press her face for a brief moment against Yanth for a bit more comfort, but at least their babies were doing well! They were picking their mates, they weren't getting hurt! And they were just absolutely precious as far as she was concerned. Fitting prizes indeed. She gave her big brown daddy a pleased chirp.
There was a small shake as another egg began to hatch, and Mal turned her attention back to watching her precious babies. The top of the egg lifted up, sitting like a tiny hat onBlue 4 as he quietly looked around. He was still sitting there when another egg shook and split open to reveal Brown 2 . The little brown started to chirp pitifully until his blue brother crawled over and gave him a helpful nudge towards a group of boys. With that little start he made his way over and chirped in delight when he finally found the one he was looking for. With that settled the blue trotted off towards a different group, gently headbutting a young man there before they walked off.
And then there was the gold egg, sitting serenely on the sands by itself without a quiver or quake. Cazan watched it anxiously for a moment. Was it broken? No, do not rush her. She was insistent and firm on that point, and made it very clear that she would not allow anyone to try to approach the egg before she decided it was ready.
Several more minutes went by, Cazan was about to say something again when the egg finally gave a wobble, and a thin crack appeared in the shell. Another minute later and the gold peeked her head out, nosed the rest of her shell away so that she could sit on the sands, staring at a group of girls and chirping as she stubbornly refused to move.
