T’ryn frowned but nodded. He supposed it wasn’t really asking for much and Malvayth having her own ledge and wallow that she could one day share with her own mate had been a main reason for the idea to begin with. He would have been fine with just having the weyr beside his be in Cazan’s name and they just darted back and forth by going through the main hall but he technically now had Mulrissa and the old and new Weyrleaders saying it was fine. He just had to get over being awkward about being a bronzerider and having such things be approved. “I’ll start working on it this stay, sir. Not sure how much I’ll get done in two days, but I don’t mind if it’s not ready before the move.”
He rolled the map up carefully, grateful to have such a detailed map in his possession. He would most certainly be copying it for his own use—which meant the door might not get worked on nearly as much as he first thought. He didn’t want to keep the map for too long, preferring to return it before he went back to Fort. Maybe he could convince K’dar to start hacking away at the wall while he copied the map and they discussed options.
“That’s everything, sir, thank you. And no, no interest, sorry to say. I’ve never had an interest in running a Weyr. My goals focus more on becoming a wingleader. I’d even be okay with wingsecond since I don’t know if I’d be good at leading. I like coming up with formations and imagining how various pairs would work together,” T’ryn confessed, almost shy to give his dream voice to a Weyrleader—and one that would have been in a wing before the plague and the small time they had them in Katila.
