Dareji gasped and shook her hand as she stepped back from the egg. “Thanks, I needed that,” she grumbled, nerves now frayed as she looked around the rest of her group. She was always nervous at every Hatching, even the ones she had been too young to Stand for but watched her brother and friends Stand. There were so many risks every single time with how disorientated and angry some hatchlings could be. Even with the amount of bodies clumped together was dangerous if something happened to cause a stampede like in Telgar several years ago. But nerves were also a good way to know she was still alive, still had emotions. As strange as it was to think, she’d hate to go through life with everything being simple and perfect. That would take the joy out of it.
Lost in thought, Dareji roamed around the outside of the clutch for a few minutes before coming to a halt beside an egg someone else had just walked away from with a frown. Would she feel the same or would she have a different connection? That was something kind of exciting about Touchings, especially when she did have to do the golden egg line up. With so many girls, it was interesting to see the interaction everyone got and what they might mean.
