Narinoa shook his head and blinked rapidly several times as he lowered his hand from the egg. Had he just zoned out? How much time had passed? He glanced around and everything seemed normal. No one was staring at him or rushing over to see if he was okay—and everything was okay. Another deep breath was inhaled, held, and slowly released as he grabbed onto the lingering moments of clarity and peace. He eyed the egg, knowing what it was doing but appreciating it. He knew he didn’t need the various drugs to help him relax or sleep but they were enjoyable and sometimes the nightmares from past Hatchings didn’t haunt him. But maybe he could try to meditate sometime and see how that worked for him.
But that was a goal for another time. Currently he had eggs waiting for him and Narinoa looked around but decided to stick within the little group he was surrounded by and turned to the egg beside the one he was just at, resting his hand on the shell with a soft greeting.
