"If you're sure you don't want to read it on your own, I suppose I could tell you about it. It's not the same as getting into the story yourself though. Maybe you just haven't found the right sort of book? Either way," K'dar shrugged as he realized it didn't really matter since she wanted him to tell her about the story, "When I'm finished I'll tell you all about it, and maybe you'll think it sounds fun enough that you'll want to read it on your own." At least he hoped she would. Maybe if he made his version sound exciting when he retold it that would help.
K'dar grinned as he was pulled along to the dance area, pausing only to pull off his jacket, turning only a slight bit red when she mentioned he could take more off. "Just the jacket for now, it's still a bit cool out. and let's see, how much I remember."
He didn't want to take the time to try to stuff his jacket away, so he set it off to the side. With his own bag adjusted and out of the way he waited for an uptick in the music again to step into the dance. He made a few false steps as he tried to keep up, but K'dar was more pleased that so far he hadn't done anything too egregious. He was keeping mostly in time with the music, he hadn't stepped on Katiryn's feet, and as he refound his neglected and all but forgotten sense of rhythm he actually was able to even lead.
Feeling a bit daring, he decided to try something he'd read about in one of his stories about a Lordling who was seduced by a maid. Hoping to emulate the dashing Lord, he took Katiryn's hand, and tried to spin her.
