The dye was cold, but Malvayth managed to not twitch too much as she felt it tickle and trickle down her hide. She was glad to hear it was working though and the tip of her tail twitched in delight. She was going to be so sneaky! And even if someone saw her, no one would recognize the mysterious black dragon. She was going to get a firelizard and some cake and Cazan would be so proud of her for sneaking that next time she would get to go on the adventure too.
This is exciting! How does it look? She cracked an eye open and craned her neck only a tiny bit to try to get a look at herself and saw a sea of blackness. She let out a pleased trill and shut her eyes again. It looks so cool! You are so good at this! She had clearly chosen the best dragon for the job She waited patiently until Taith told her that he was finished with his masterpiece before she stood up and took a look at herself. It was even better than she'd hoped for, there were bits of gold still peaking out here and there, but it was all stained and muted, like an antique bit of brass or oil stained copper button like the kind Cazan would use for her leather goods sometimes.
This is great! You should color things more. With her disguise complete she carefully peeked over her ledge to eye the rest of the Weyr. Okay, now we have to practice sneaking until we find cake. She turned back to her brother to ask, Where do they keep the cake?
