“First impressions? I think you’d be much better off as his mistress than his wife,” Sh’ran said dryly, eyeing up the lordling. “If you were a Lady, I’d say he’d do quite nicely as a husband. Pretty, not so high up the social ladder you’d have real responsibilities, but not so low that you wouldn’t be living in style, and from what you’ve said I’m sure he’d be fairly attentive to his wife. But you’d have to put up with being a Lady to do so, which no, gross. Holder rules are dull, especially for Ladies.” Misha shrugged, considering Tazikel again. There was something about the way he was interacting with T’ryn that was setting off little bells in the back of his head (especially given Tazikel may-or-may-not have kissed Kordi at Turn’s End), but Sh’ran ignored them for the moment. Dyoricath’s shrieking had the unintentional side effect of increasing his tolerance for mental noise exponentially.
“Why are you asking about if he’s worth commitment or whatever?” he asked. “He hasn’t asked you to marry him or anything, has he? In which case you say fuck no, and if he insists you dump him. But that doesn’t seem to fit with what you’ve said and the sense I get of him, so I doubt that. Thank fuck, because he’s too pretty to be invested in marriage.” Misha had some complicated thoughts on marriage, if he were being honest. He didn’t love the whole ‘be with this one person exclusively forever’ deal, though he did very much like the part that was about being with someone in a more significant way than they were with others. It was the exclusive part Sh’ran was less fond of (Dyoricath, conversely, thought the idea of marriage was excellent, but he was a possessive bitch and totally would think that sort of exclusivity was fantastic). Thinking about it was too complicated. Sh’ran didn’t give a fuck if he was a little contradictory sometimes. He could still tell being a Lady would suck and Tazikel should be shared for the good of the community.
