Quinvalis pouted at all of the lecturing but he didn’t argue any of it. He knew it came from a good place and he appreciated how much F’drel cared—even if he was being a bit too over protective. He didn’t say he was going to visit Halomirth that day, or give a time at all; just promised he would. Of course he would wait until he could actually move without too much pain. As it was, just trying to return the hand squeeze both were giving him was a lot of effort so getting to the ledge was certainly out of the question.
“You can help, but only if you can manage to get my mom to go home and not worry.” He gave her a smile, knowing that he had to have worried her sick—again—with this Hatching. He also knew she wouldn’t leave if it were up to her, not until he was all patched up. A part of him worried she would demand he came home with her and leave the Weyr and dragons behind. Quinvalis wouldn’t blame her if she did and he’d go quietly as well so as not to continue being such a source of pain for her. But he didn’t want to be a burden either which was why he tried so hard to be useful at the Weyr and wanted a dragon.
“But for now, I promise not to make promises about visiting people and I promise to focus on healing. Which might mean going back to sleep.” He hurt and he was a bit groggy still as well and Quinvalis figured sleep was the best medicine for a lot of ailments so dragon mauling probably fell in there as well. Besides, he had asked if F’drel was sleeping with his mom so clearly he wasn’t in any state to stay awake much longer.
