She was beyond exhausted now that the stitching was done and the imminent danger had passed. The adrenaline was easing off and even with her brave little gold helping, the pain was sapping her strength. It had been a day already. The clawing, Cirith's Impression, the earth-shaking. Out of all of that, there was such joy. The joy in knowing that her lifemate's mind was twined with her own and her heart would be full of many loves was something that would never cease to amaze her.
She sniffed a little and then smiled as she put weight on the leg, leaning into L'gan just a little and long enough to brush a kiss on the very tip of his nose.
"I will be very good and even change the dressings," she said, waggling her eyebrows at him. There was a rough edge to her voice that said she'd be out as soon as she tended to her lifemate. "There will be sleep soon, I hope. I'm sure you checking in and telling me what I've missed will help me settle."
I will carefully sit on her if she has ideas that involve moving , Cirith said in a teasing voice. Do not worry, L'gan. We will be fine and so will you. Cirith's mind shifted like a sunbeam to rest against Semath's since this was as close to a snuggle as she could get. One day, perhaps when she was a little larger, the green would get a proper cuddle. She wanted the elder dragon to be at peace too!
"Be safe, love," Sariel murmured, letting her eyes linger on him for a while.
Cirith burble hummed as she immediately went to support Sariel as they moved to get the gold all bathed and oiled before sleep could even be considered. Her arm was slung over Cirith's neck as they shuffled off. There was a...death on the sands, she could hear the murmurs. Cirith let out a soft warbling sound of distress and very clearly wanted to turn back. But they couldn't. They had things to do now that Cirith had her fill of meat. There was a bath, oiling, and then the both of them would dream of better things.
When they woke, they'd figure out who was no longer among them and they would be honoured. Sariel would see to it.
