Katiryn watched as dragon after dragon emerged and found their life mates and while she would be happy for her friends later, she was really only focused on the golds and if she would end up with one of them. The Touching hadn’t encouraged her much and she still wasn’t entirely sure she wanted either if that was how they were going to be but once she saw a gold snoot poking out of the shell, she was back on board with the idea.
She held her breath as the gold took her time getting to her feet with a part of her worrying that maybe something was wrong. But soon enough she was proven wrong with how feisty a spirit that gold seemed to impress as a fight broke out and the gold and green rolled her way. Katiryn wasn’t waiting around this time and she quickly turned on her heel and booked it a good distance away and only felt marginally bad for abandoning anyone slower than her. She also then panicked about having her back to the duo and spun back around to see a girl on the ground and the gold shrieking.
No, no, no, no… it wasn’t going to happen again. The gold wasn’t going to murder anyone! Katiryn stared in horror and sobbed with relief as the girl and gold seemed to have bonded and worked to get her off to the side for some assistance. As they passed, Katiryn recognised Sariel and offered her a softly whispered congratulations before meekly moving back to where she had been before. Others did the same and a nervous laughter seemed to circle through them all. Would that have happened if they hadn’t panicked? Maybe, maybe not. She had her back to most of it so Katiryn couldn’t say but she hoped Sariel was okay.
The spat between the green and gold didn’t help encourage her to hope for the other gold to come her way either. Given the way both had reacted to her, the one that was left was probably just as nasty and wouldn’t be a good match for her. Katiryn wondered who would get that one and she ignored the next couple of Impressions to glance around the group of women trying to match them up with the gold.
