Everything was pretty benign so far, so woo. Kordiavis wasn’t even worried about the brown since it seemed more excited than murderous. He supposed if he had to Stand, Aradissicath was one of the better ones, though her babies still sucked. Fine, the one did, and he had no idea which one it was now but he hoped to never cross paths with it again.
He was still thinking about ways to get out of Hatchings in the future when he felt a sudden pain on his nose that had him grabbing it and then frown in confusion when a voice whimpered in his head. A voice that was very much not his own. He glanced out at the very pale blue that was face first in the sand and Kordiavis sighed.
“Fuck.”
He had actually Impressed and didn’t know how to feel about it. A part of him was devastated that he had to share his mind and never be alone again and another part, the part that slowly had his feet moving to the baby dragon, wanted to cry as a piece of that void was filled in. How long had he been drawing that void? Everything in darkness and despair with no hope of ever finding what would finally bring back the light and …peace.
He sighed again as he crouched down before the dragon and helped the boy out by brushing away some of the excess sand, though it wouldn’t help much without water and a cloth. “You didn’t need to rush, kid. Not like I was going anywhere.”
You needed me and I didn’t want to make you wait. And it’s Taith, not kid. Taith quietly pointed out as he got to his feet.
“I know it is,” he just didn’t want to use it. It made it all very real and he wasn’t processing it all that easily. “Let’s get you bathed and fed… Taith.”
Taith gave the impression of smiling as they started walking off and Kordiavis frowned as he felt the—his—dragon rooting around for a name. “No.”
But K’di is nice and close to what your friends call you. The dragon pouted and Kordiavis held firm. He vetoed K’vis as well, not feeling that vibe either. He attempted suggestions with his name backwards, like S’drok and S’vai because fuck the rules but they both weren’t thrilled.
By the time they reached the assistant taking names of the pairs, Kordiavis sighed and looked at Taith with a shrug. “It’ll do. Kor’is of blue Taith.” And for once, he smiled.
