T’ryn had yet to open his eyes, having relied solely on memory and his conversation with Syrendryth to verify what happened and who he was with. So he had no idea where they were. “I’d have to sit up to figure that out and that really sounds like a lot of work,” he confessed, though he had a bit of a dull pain in his right thigh that was either from lying awkwardly on the ground for too long or he had banged it during the Flight. He really didn’t want to think about that right then because that would lead him down the path of thinking about the fact that he’d just had sex with F’drel and he’d only ever been with N’mor when it came to men and he wasn’t sure how he felt about that. Though, the only women he’d slept with were Casa and Mulrissa and one of those lovely goldriders had been in Flights only as well and he could only recall a little glimpse here and there if he really thought about it.
And he really didn’t want to do that thinking thing right now. So much so, that he asked F’drel to describe the room to him so he still wouldn’t even have to visually identify anything himself and could continue lying there pretending he was completely comfortable as he attempted to snuggle in a bit closer to F’drel. He was fine with cuddles but T’ryn felt like he was stealing R’dal’s gig right then with how much more he wanted it.
“Sounds like the archive room—or library as some call it. It used to be full of books and scrolls but the Harpers took everything when they believed the dragonriders were never coming back. M’ris has been slowly getting things back though.” He’d only been in the room twice before the Flight made it an interesting third time. Once to help Casa map it out because he was curious about what it contained, and then he asked M’ris if he could study any records they might have on wings since he’d only been working off of what he’d watched back in Katila and his own ideas. It was nice to have a frame of reference to whether or not he was crazy or suicidal with the formations.
“What were you doing over here if you’ve never been in it before?” Even as he asked, Casa flittered through his mind. She had helped him to F’drel so it made sense she had likely shoved the greenrider into the secluded room, knowing privacy would likely be wanted. He would have to thank her for that kindness later on. Right now, however, he should probably get up before he stayed on the floor until hunger motivated him.
But warm body and cuddles…
T’ryn shook his head a little and frowned. Syrendryth was really messing with him this time. At least it wasn’t remnants of the Flightlust he was battling, just the desire to snuggle forever. He was glad his dragon was happy and he was willing to bet Halomirth was as well given how F’drel still clung to him but it still felt like he was taking advantage of the situation and T’ryn never wanted to be one of those dragonriders that pulled rank or simply took what he wanted without checking in with the greenrider first. No matter how much you keep influencing me to stay put. You can stay with her as long as you want but stop pushing that on us.
“Sorry if I was keeping you down here with me,” T’ryn apologised as he finally opened his eyes, blinking a few times to clear his vision and focus in on F’drel. He loosened his hold on the greenrider to allow ample space to break free if desired before yet again proving his friends correct with his politeness going into overdrive. “And thank you for humouring my apparent need for snuggling after a Flight.”
