Jajojin shut his eyes as the mentioning of keening and the implied fact that his daughter's dragon almost died. A part of him wished the dragon had died. From what he had heard from R'nya, Madiquel didn't seem to realise she had even Impressed until she was on the Sands, only reacting as a Healer seeing a patient that wasn't dead yet. The loss would have barely been felt, if at all. He hated himself for thinking such things, not wanting to risk his baby girl go through the loss he had, even if the connection was only minutes and not years. But everything would have been normal still if the dragonet had died instead of clinging on for her mate.
Yet he was also glad the dragon did hang on, giving Madiquel a chance to keep her sanity and know the joy of having a dragon of her own. But that didn't mean he wanted to meet the thing! Madiquel's presence was helping to ground him as much as the sedative was but he still didn't think he was ready to meet the creature that dared to Impress to his sweet innocent daughter. A green! He knew what that meant, how greenriders were treated, and he did not like the fact that in a couple of years his daughter was going to be a part of that. He'd heard about the way A'tay and his dragon defended the blue pair that caused all of this and so help him, he'd make sure A'tay defended Madiquel with triple that dedication!
Inhale...exhale...
"Bring her in." Jajojin knew he had to meet the dragon sooner or later and it would break his daughter's heart if it wasn't done sooner. He couldn't continue to be a disappointment or embarrassment to her. He had to meet the dragon and had to do it with grace and calm. He glanced down at her and gave a thin smile and nod. He could and would do this!
