R’dal was still leaning more towards F’drel being mad than afraid but he didn’t point that out, knowing it would actually make F’drel mad. He still wasn’t entirely sure why there was even a reason to be afraid, even with the vague explanation. Maybe being friends was a bit of a stretch since they had just met and were in very different stations in life, but they could have started down the path to friendship! Maybe even by the time they parted ways for the day they would have set up a time to get together again in the future to build a solid friendship.
It certainly didn’t seem like he was being taken advantage of, though F’drel said Raigan wanted to, not that he had been. How would he do it? He was being nothing but kind to him, which was pretty cool to have a Lord Holder pay such attention to him! Raigan was pretty handsome for an old guy as well so it seemed to have an even harder effect on R’dal and his admiration for the man. But he was a Lord Holder! They weren’t interested in men and R’dal knew that and wasn’t about to make a move on the Lord and didn’t even expect to one day be able to enjoy naps together like he did with all of his Weyr friends. So what the heck kind of being taken advantage of was F’drel talking about?
“Why do you always have to see the worst in everyone?” He blurted out, almost surprising himself with the question. But it was true! He loved F’drel and his grumpiness, but the greenrider really did seem to suspect everyone as an enemy and never wanted to be around groups or interact with anyone if he didn’t have to. Why?
