"At the least we could determine if they're alive or not." Sariel let out a sigh and held up her hands and with R'vi and L'gan's words, her face drained of colour. It wasn't right. It wasn't right at all. But this Hatching had taken such a toll on her. All the death...all the flickering of life. She would ask the gold. At least she did ask. There was no point in doing it if she didn't have permission.
"I'm not stupid enough to go there without permission," she snapped at L'gan's retreating figure. She instantly regretted snapping at him. He was only trying to help. "I asked permission. And mind you, I haven't moved an inch." She folded her arms and scowled at Beckitt for a moment before her features softened.
"We're all crazy. We're Standing. We haven't backed down from our duty despite the events of this Hatching. We're still here." She stabbed a finger at the remaining eggs. " For them."
