Mylorah felt Kordiavis draw in a sharp breath before cursing. She didn’t get to ask what caused that reaction as he quietly said her name and guided her to turn around. If he didn’t still have his arms around her, she knew she would have been on her knees again if not at least stumbling back in disbelief. As it was, her hands flew up to her mouth again, supressing a gasp or a scream or a shout, she didn’t know. All she knew was that Madiquel was on the Sands when she most certainly shouldn’t have been.
At first she thought maybe the girl was being her ridiculously sweet and caring self again and trying to bring the dead hatchling back and that was tearing her to pieces to see. But then she saw the dragonet was moving, if barely, and people were bringing over food. Had Madiquel Impressed to the green they all wrote off as dead?
She felt her knees wobbling and Kordiavis held on tighter to keep her upright so she leaned back against him since he seemed far more put together and worthy of being a support. She hated thinking it and wanted the green to live even if it hadn’t Impressed to Madiquel of all people but it had and it was nearly dead and what if it died? She was already doing her best to accept Misharan’s blue was going to make it despite his condition but the green was even more under developed. She couldn’t lose either of them to death or the madness…
The madness! Oh Faranth! Jajojin was not going to be pleased! He would have a hard enough time accepting Madiquel Impressing to a healthy dragon but seeing the sickly green was going to destroy him. “Oh no… they’re all in for a hard time…” the young green pair, the dragonless father… Mylorah couldn’t fathom what was in store for any of them.
Then there was her little brother and his obvious feelings for Madiquel. She found A’tay easily enough, first knowing where they were all sitting, but also because he was standing and R’nd was doing his best to hold him back. Of course he wanted to rush down and see Madiquel. The Impression was a shock to all of them, even if the hatchling hadn’t seemed like she was dead, and A’tay was probably freaking out about the same things she was on top of just wanting to be there to help her. R’nd had it right, though. None of them were trained in this sort of thing and it was what kept her back yet again instead of rushing in to help. She’d just be in the way. All she could do was offer a smile if the girl looked her way and offer silent encouragement and support.
