L’gan didn’t have time to worry about more than the newly Impressed pair on the sands, focusing on making sure the food was small enough and soft enough per Verec’s instructions for the poor dragonet to chew, and sending to the kitchen for some marrow bones they could crack open for the rich nutrients inside. The blue was heartbreakingly thin up close, and his joints seemed altogether too dry and stiff. Would numbweed help them, he wondered. If it were mixed in with the oil the dragonet would need as soon as its hunger was slaked, maybe. He didn’t dare risk any ingested medicine yet, not until they had a better idea of the little one’s condition.
Semath was just happy one of the babies had Impressed. She trilled happily for the new pair, encouraging them. L’gan will this one be okay? she asked her bonded, forcing herself to settle. I don’t know, love. But I hope so. He seems full of spirit, like his new rider. He hoped he wouldn’t have to eat those words.
