Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Z'rin was relieved when N'mor said he was going to the Hatching. A part of him wondered if his mate would go given he and Casa didn't like each other and that whole bluerider winning thing. A lot of bronzeriders and some brownriders had been offended by a blue winning, though he personally wasn't for or against it. It wasn't like it was going to spark an uprising and blueriders were suddenly going to take over the Weyrs. It was likely a fluke brought on by the small size of the gold and blue in question and the element of surprise brought on by not only a blue catching up but a blue they all thought had been a green hours before.
He also didn't think going showed support for anything other than the Candidates potentially bonding to a dragon. N'mor seemed to agree with that so when the call came announcing it was beginning, they took their time getting ready, knowing there was no rush. Even if the eggs suddenly started cracking, it wouldn't take long to hop on their dragons and be there to see it.
Considering the call came while they were busy breaking in the new linen he had purchased that morning after taking Aldra to Tillek for some lordly business or another, Z'rin suggested a bath. A hands to themselves bath, he amended as they made their way to the bathing rooms, laughing.
When they were finally ready to go, the Hatching still hadn't begun and Z'rin only suffered a mild heart attack when he thought he had forgotten to get Lord Ista. Thankfully, upon hearing the clutch was small and would a smaller with little fanfare surrounding it, he had decided not to attend so Z'rin was off the hook for potentially being late.
Upon entering, they saw a small crowd already in the stands along with the Candidates around the eggs and the Healers on the sidelines. He waved to L'gan and Eb'zer, two Healers he adored as they kept him company in the infirmary when he was bed bound during the fires and N'mor was off tending to them. They were good people and Z'rin entertained the idea of, well, entertaining them at some point by hosting a dinner but he hadn't run the idea by N'mor yet and after L'gan's Flight, he was hesitant to do so, despite their open rules.
He scanned the area trying to find a place to sit, spotting R'vi first but also seeing his friend seemed miserable. That likely meant he was still sour about Faxxonth winning and was only there for the Impressions. Not good company, then. Then he saw T'ryn had a couple of seats open beside him and Z'rin nudged N'mor in that direction. "R'vi looks like sour grapes, so let's go sit with T'ryn and his pretty boy friend." He had no idea who the friend was but he seemed important and Z'rin was in a curious mood.
