T’ryn hadn’t heard the knock on the door and while Syrendryth was aware of N’mor’s presence, he hadn’t done anything to wake up his rider either. Mostly, the dragon wanted to see what came out of it and wasn’t disappointed when N’mor let himself in and bounced on the bed, startling T’ryn awake in a flail of limbs as he turned himself over from his stomach. “Nem! Wha?” He was awake but barely and his heart was racing from the jostled way he had been woken from his deep sleep. He had no idea why his friend was in his room and was struggling to keep his eyes open now that the fear of being attacked had passed. He yawned and was close to telling N’mor to shove off or stretch out, either or so long as it allowed for sleep, when the two magical words reminded him of what the day was.
Groaning, T’ryn did close his eyes again but not in sleep. It was more in an attempt to wish himself away while also berating himself for sleeping in--beecause N’mor’s next words definitely reminded him why he had initially wanted to get up early and hide somewhere in the wild for the day. Too bad he had stayed up late, worrying about how his birthday would go after seeing how N’mor’s had gone. A lot had happened in the past turn and he felt his friendship with N’mor was pretty solid again, though he knew it would never be like it was before feelings were revealed and then destroyed and then… well, he had made a lot of mistakes and was doing his best to move passed them but N’mor’s birthday was still weird with the family gathering and none of their old traditions being maintained.
He wasn’t sure he wanted to spend the day, or part of it, shopping but at least it would be with N’mor and he’d escape their smothering fathers for a bit. “Fine…” he mumbled when the blanket was taken away and gave another sigh as he watched N’mor walk off without even a glance back. Considering everyone that was close to him had the habit of just barging in, T’ryn never slept nude. It was close to it with just a pair of shorts since nights could still be rather hot when Ista felt like roasting them again, but it was enough to keep him decent for unexpected visitors. Still, a playful glance to tease at the idea of sneaking a peek would have been nice instead of being considerate.
T’ryn didn’t rush with getting ready nor did he take his time. It wasn’t an emergency that required everything being tossed on at a moment’s notice nor but the plan wasn’t really something he wanted to ignore and drag his feet for either. He took a moment or two longer than usual to pick out his birthday outfit and had to wet his hair to help get rid of the bed head a glance in his tiny mirror showed he was suffering from but in the end, he was ready and looking forward to the day.
“So, where we headed? Just down to the Hold?”
