Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! That was a lot easier than he expected. No protest about the hour or already having plans or even explaining why that was the first thing he wanted to do with her in months. T’ryn stumbled inside and stared at her retreating backside as Casa went to dress and he was left in charge of grabbing food. He actually already had some snacks and water packed in his bag he left with Syrendryth –and not because he no longer trusted anything that came from Casa. If he couldn’t get a hold of her or she declined, then he would have still gone and wouldn’t have wasted time with packing. Still, he grabbed some items from her kitchen that would work well for their trip and tucked them into the bag that Casa held when she returned. Besides, it didn’t hurt to have extra supplies since he didn’t know how long they planned to explore.
While he was dressed in his usual attire with his riding jacket also left with Syrendryth, T’ryn had to admit he hadn’t thought about the temperature. He’d just been in Telgar not too long ago and while he could feel it starting to cool off, it never occurred to him that the other Weyrs might already be colder. “This is why I wanted to go with you,” he smiled at her first lesson and nodded his understanding at where to meet. He tensed a little under her hug before quickly returning it and just as quickly dashing back to his weyr to find his winter gear he hadn’t used since the last time he went skating at Eridella’s home before she said the ice would start to melt. He found everything all neatly tucked away in a drawer of heavier clothes that weren’t needed for Ista but worked well in other areas.
Once ready, T’ryn threw on his jacket and his cross-body satchel before mounting up to make their great escape. There was still the watch dragon to get by but he knew no one would really question why the young bronze and gold that used to date were now sneaking off together, especially if they didn’t do the jump until out of sight. He didn’t know how many people knew of Casa’s new hobby but either way, it’d either be seen as something romantic for the adorable and well-behaved couple to be doing before their day of duties or it’d be seen as her quiet shame of being with the uptight boy that never seemed to have fun anymore. He was okay with either view.
There wouldn’t be a watch dragon at High Reaches at this early hour either. That was one thing he did know about the region, and all abandoned Weyrs. They had been cleared out of what the older dragonriders called ungrateful squatters taking advantage of prime real estate to breed disgusting whers and now each active Weyr patrolled an inactive one every so often. He’d heard Fort and Telgar sometimes used them as punishment, sending a misbehaving dragonrider to stand post there for hours on end, but usually it was just a fly over that took no more than an hour to ensure no one was touching what they shouldn’t. So that would give them plenty of time to explore, even if it’d be pretty dark; which was why he brought several glow stones.
When he saw Casa, T’ryn found the old urge to run over and kiss her and mentally kicked himself to stop that. Yes, she looked damn good, as always, but the glow of excitement could be seen even with only the moonlight shining down on them. He decided to blame the thrill of doing something bad and about to go on an adventure. “Syrendryth chatted up Rilaleeyth,” because T’ryn didn’t know where all the old riders came from but knew J’ver was from that area and, he hated to admit, Rilaleeyth was so sweet and easy for his dragon to manipulate into co-operation, “and got the visuals for the trip without alerting J’ver since he was asleep and found the memories and she’ll keep quiet. I haven’t been anywhere in that region so I had to improvise in case you hadn’t been or didn’t want to come. Anyway, I think we’re all set. Fly low until we’re out of sight and then go?”
