The next egg to hatch wasQuintessence another green, who backed into the egg behind her as she exited her shell. The bump seemed to inspire the dragonet inside to break free, and Inky appeared. He burst from his egg and immediately dashed off to Impress, startling Quintessence , who sat down in surprise as he blew past her. Carefully she picked herself back up, and walked over to the side of the Sands where a lot of the Candidates still huddled and Impressed, curling around her lifemate and cooing softly.

Truth hatched with little fanfare, shaking off his eggshell and immediately walking off to a boy to Impress.

A third bronze showed his face, flopping out of his egg and rolling in the sand a moment before righting himself and shaking the sand off.Ecstasy gave his wings a few flaps, stretching them out, before flopping on his side next to one of the two remaining eggs. Kicking it gently with his feet, the egg cracked open as Reason decided he’d had enough of his brother hitting his egg. Giving Ecstasy what could only be described as a pout, Reason stalked off to Impress. With an amused huff, Ecstasy bounded off to Impress, practically tackling the young man to the ground in his enthusiasm.

The Sands now held only one egg left unhatched. After waiting half an hour or so, people started leaving, assuming the egg was a dud. A full hour after the last egg hatched, Bedith moved to pull the egg aside in order to leave it between when she had a good moment. Anyone who was still waiting took that as their cue to leave and get a few hours of sleep. The Hatching was officially over. Mulrissa wasn’t sure how relieved she should be; it was over, no one else could get hurt, but she’d almost certainly have to keep dealing with this Hatching for a long time.
