Indivara watched the goings on upon the Sands with more interest than usual, if only because she was intently aware of keeping an eye on who was Impressing – after all, she was going to be responsible for educating them and keeping them alive for the next fifteen months, if not their entire lives! That was kind of terrifying, really, Indivara realised and she pursed her lips as another green Impressed a young man. So far, she didn’t have any issues with who had Impressed, and that was good. The colour combinations on some were rather interesting, but what were dragons if completely unpredictable?
It wasn’t until Daelyne Impressed that Indivara’s eyes widened dramatically at an outcome. It wasn’t the dragonet – though she was certainly very eye catching! – so much as the fact that a girl had Impressed and while Indivara thought Daelyne would make a great dragonrider, and a great greenrider, she was rather worried suddenly about how the Weyrleaders would view her as a result. Of course, Indivara was quite aware that Daelyne had Touched several eggs. Technically, only a handful of people – Mulrissa, T’ryn, and those who had been in that Touching group – would know Daelyne had, and only if they’d paid her any heed. But Indivara suddenly realised how much trouble she could get into if anyone found out.
Shit.
Indivara glanced worriedly at Val, knowing he would understand that her worry was entirely personal and not at all because she didn’t think Daelyne would make a good Rider. That girl had spunk and Indivara knew they’d be a freaking pain in the arse to educate, honestly. That was going to be so much fun… Indivara grimaced at Val as Venseth passed on the dragonet’s name to Val so he could record the information, since Daelyne hadn’t bothered to come over to them herself. Indivara sighed, deciding that was going to be a wonderful example of the girl for the next fifteen months.
Joy.
Grimacing, Indivara rubbed her stomach as the baby within kicked her in the ribs. At least no one had been seriously mauled!
