Vessaelia squealed. She could admit it, and she would if anyone accused her of doing it. How could she not? She had two green dragonets coming towards and not only was she panicking that one might be for her, they had been fighting and one of them still didn’t look happy. She didn’t want to be mauled, killed, or eaten by a crazed dragon! Every instinct in her told her to run away but fear held her in place as much as her training that running would only anger a beast more and they would likely run faster than her as well.
When one of the greens actually did come near her, Vessaelia was on the verge of tears and possibly passing out. Wouldn’t that be lovely? Fainting at a Hatching and being dragged off by Healers and then not be allowed to return, assuming she hadn’t already missed the gold hatching. She made herself look at the creature and decided it was cute. Maybe. She needed a bath to really tell but green and gold were very different colours and Vessaelia realised that while emeralds could be lovely paired with a band of gold, green just wasn’t as nice on its own.
She finally started breathing again when the greens moved on, with one of them actually Impressing to a girl. Oh dear, that was going to cause some issues, wasn’t it? She was pleased the little green found her mate, and that the mate was still alive –she didn’t go to Ista but heard that was a horrible thing to watch—but those in charge were probably having conniptions right now. Vessaelia was glad she wasn’t the one that Impressed to a green. Daelyne was already going to have a rough go as a greenrider but add in that she was a female rider and it would probably get ugly sometimes. At least she had Indivara as her Weyrlingmaster. Indivara would guide her through it all without issue.
