Jalazmar chuckled at what he perceived to be a joke and decided he’d likely get along with the greenrider quite well; if the man could ever get passed his training as a drudge. He’d like to have F’drel over for dinners and spend the evening talking, maybe playing cards. If he had a significant other or good friend, they could come as well and Xyliah could join in on drinks and games. But it was best not to plan that evening out just yet, not even in his head, given he had a feeling it would be a while before they got past the ‘my lord’ portion of their relationship.
He nodded at the explanation that everyone seemed content with where they were. Of course, F’drel could be lying to him but Jalazmar didn’t think so. He was the oldest out of the siblings and it seemed fair to assume F’drel wouldn’t be able to hide his anger at any mistreatment he had heard about and would be asking for them to move to the Weyr where he could better protect them. This was good. He wanted to be a fair ruler where everyone in his hold was comfortable and not afraid of every sound. The small amount of progress made in the meeting was encouraging and Jalazmar looked forward to the coming months where he hoped F’drel was more at ease.
Setting his cup down, Jalazmar stood, having caught the clear indication that F’drel was ready to leave if he could. That worked for him. He got the conversation he wanted and had a lunch meeting to get to. If he could find his way. Perhaps one more favour was needed from F’drel. “I thank you for your time and honesty, F’drel. I’ll let you get back to your day’s activities, but first, I was told it’s nearby but I’d likely still get lost. Could you escort me to the dining cavern? The tour M’ris is giving Xyliah is ending there so we can have a midday meal together before leaving.”
