“You mean other than sleeping in?” R’nd was a huge fan of sleeping to late morning or even close to midday meal if he could get away with it which is why he did his best to make plans for later in the day whenever possible. Sometimes chores called for early rising or the plans of someone else made him rise early and while he grumbled a bit upon waking, he never let on to those he was seeing that he’d rather still be in bed.
“I’m heading to Ista to see the boys this afternoon. I received a letter via Shadow a couple of days ago,” while he had Rell and B’jin had Shimmer, it was still odd to have a firelizard pop into his home unexpectedly but he was slowly growing accustomed to it thanks to A’tay’s penchant for writing him updates on his weyrling training. “Apparently Xyxyth has had a growth spurt and I want to see how they’re doing. A’tay also mentioned T’ryn is still being anti-social.” He worried about his oldest son. The boy had suffered two major heart breaks in rapid succession from what R’nd could figure out between N’mor’s crying and reports that T’ryn wasn’t with Casa anymore. He was doing his best not to meddle, letting the boys figure out their drama on their own but R’nd was starting to worry that T’ryn would become a recluse and not giving relationships another chance soon.
“You can come, if you’re free. I’m sure A’tay would be happy for your opinions on his care of Xyxyth and no doubt N’mor would love an unexpected visit from you,” R’nd chuckled as he imagined the expression the young bronzerider would have when he saw his father.
