R’nd was typically a happy man but the bliss and relaxation that came after a Flight – especially Larrikith’s—probably made him nearly insufferable. He would have gladly stayed in bed with B’jin curled against him for the rest of the day if their responsibilities would allow for it, though that was often an opinion he held even without the Flights. How he got so lucky, he still wasn’t sure. A long-harboured crush that was given a chance to bloom and somehow weathered some rough storms turned into something much more than he ever would have expected or dared to hope for. One day, it would likely all come crashing down around him and it was R’nd’s goal to enjoy every moment he had with B’jin until then.
He smiled and kissed B’jin’s nose when the meaningful words were uttered. R’nd had accepted long ago that he loved B’jin as well and while he sometimes still had his odd panic attacks brought on by those emotions or the number of years they had been together, he wasn’t truly afraid of the emotions anymore. It helped that Ayyonth harassed him regularly in the past to just accept everything and get over it until he was finally able to mostly get over his fears and self-doubt. “And I you,” R’nd replied back with a tender smile and only realised afterwards that he had skipped over a pretty important word in that statement.
Before he could rectify that and jump over another one of his odd hurdles, B’jin was thanking him. For saying, sort of, that he loved him as well? That didn’t seem right, but R’nd couldn’t figure out what the gratitude was for. Maybe just for chasing? That seemed like a safe guess given the Flight had ended moments before but still the puzzlement was obvious in his expression as he tried to work it out. “For chasing? I always will. Well, for as long as you want us to.” If things one day turned sour and they parted ways, R’nd would respect B’jin’s wish not to be chased by them again if that was what he wanted. He knew Ayyonth would follow him on that as well but hopefully it never came to that!
