B’jin had been incredibly cranky the night before, and had gone to bed early after snapping at R’nd for the umpteenth time about something ridiculous and definitely childish, such as the bluerider breathing in his direction or smiling at him or just existing. B’jin loved R’nd, and he knew R’nd loved him, but as the night got later all he could think about was how much he couldn’t stand being around his lover and he had stalked off to bed making a quip about how he hoped R’nd slept on the couch, even though they both knew it was very uncomfortable to sleep on.
Which was why, when B’jin woke in the middle of the night and found R’nd wasn’t there, it just made the greenrider grumpier. All his irritation at his lover flooded back through him in a rush of outrage and the man tumbled out of bed with a thump and stalked out to the living area. He didn’t bother with glows as he made his way confidently to the couch and kicked R’nd in the shin. He proceeded to make snide comments to the sleep fuddled R’nd about what the fuck was he doing on the couch and why wasn’t he in bed and did he have any idea what the time was?
Herding his confused lover into the bedroom, B’jin stood grumpily by the side of the bed until R’nd had crawled in. Once he was sure his lover wasn’t going to run off, B’jin scrambled in himself and cuddled up against the bluerider, pressing his nose against R’nd’s neck and nuzzling him affectionately before falling back asleep, arms and legs wrapped possessively around the bluerider and his nose still pressed against R’nd’s neck.
B’jin woke next as the light of dawn was growing more solid, his stomach alive with activity and his heart pounding somewhere near his throat. His body felt all hot and cold, with shivers rapidly running up and down his spine; he could feel all the hairs on the back of his neck standing up on end in the moments before Larrikith gave a shriek and flung herself off the ledge and into the sky. Turning his head, B’jin’s brown eyes met R’nd’s grey, and the greenrider gave a coy smile.
