R’vi couldn’t stop the smile that formed at seeing Indivara so excited. She deserved the happiness and getting what she wanted. The girl was constantly ill when they were younger and then there was the way she was mauled at a Hatching, leaving her scarred. Not to mention the mental scarring done when she kicked an egg that refused to hatch and the mess that came out of it. It really did seem like she had found her path and all of her perseverance had paid off. Seeing her happy and in her element might have been enough to get him to transfer Weyrs but he didn’t say that. He loved Indivara, as his closest friend, but he had long gotten over his delusions of her returning any feelings that would have elevated that relationship and knew she wouldn’t want to hear such things, even if it was said in jest.
Instead he laughed as he replied, “it’d be worth the transfer back here just to watch unsuspecting Candidates react to you. I know you’re already plotting new ways to scare the kids and it would be entertaining as all get out to watch.” R’vi’s grin widened as he teased her and easily imagined what would go down. The kids from the holds would never know what hit them.
“You better tell me when the Hatching begins and when you’re going to start training them on the big stuff. I want to see you shine and them tremble,” again, he was grinning and a laugh was forming. As long as he didn’t get roped into transferring so he could be her assistant, he’d gladly watch her from the sidelines.
